The product is great! it shipped faster than I thought possible, installation was a breeze, minus the difficulty of a rusty old van. I even made a mistake with my email and customer service was great and accommodated quickly.

I ordered my hitch. It came in promptly, I installed it and I’m towing my boat !

by:
2012 Subaru Forester

I believe this is the fourth hitch I have ordered from etrailer.com. All have been very well engineered and carefully produced to fit the vehicles I ordered them for. The first was our 2004 Subaru Forester and I learned a lot from that installation. The install videos were great. The next was for my 2007 Dodge crew cab 4X4 and it was a little easier because of the higher ground clearance. I installed another on our 2012 Forester after we traded and it went in very quickly. The last was about a year ago when I installed a hitch on my '94 Chevy Van project vehicle. I'm currently 72 years old and if I can do these installs I think anyone can. I always order the recommended wiring kit for each vehicle and they have always worked perfectly.

Excellent product for the price item arrived faster than expected

2000 Chevrolet Astro

I ordered a class III hitch for my 2000 chevy astro and it was supposed to be delivered on Friday. This one never got delivered and the tracking updates stopped. Called UPS and they said the package was misplaced or lost. Called E-trailer on Tuesday, Monday was a Holiday and they verified that the package was lost. Etrailer shipped out another or replacement and it got to me Saturday. Installed it myself on the van following their instructiona and the video. Took me a couple of hours, but everything worked the way it should. I would do business with this company again.

1997 Chevrolet Astro

Perfect fit and easy to install. The instructions were right on!!!

by:

Product looks like it will perform adequately for my intended uses. Installation was a 2.5 hour ordeal, however. The installation instructions were barely adequate. The parts list did not contain all of the nut/bolt head sizes, which would make it easy to find what size socket or wrench to use. The mounting brackets for the hitch receiver did not fit onto their appropriate locations without modifying the factory bumper flanges with an angle grinder, a forty minute job I was not expecting to encounter. The existing weldnuts that the mounting brackets were supposed to bolt to were not useable, so I had to drill two new holes in the mounting brackets and use the hardware for earlier models of my vehicle to gain the final two bolt points. The installation took at least three times longer that it would have if everything had actually lined up.

very nice products. high quality. excellent service from etrailer!

by:
2002 Chevrolet Astro

Well built ,easy to install fast shipping for a good price I would recommend this to anyone who wants a durable quality American made hitch. Used it for a year now and holding up like new and the paint coating resists rust and salt from Wisconsin winters.

by:
1999 Chevrolet Astro

Great hitch! Easy to install. The 3 piece construction makes it no problem for a 1 chicken install. Minor damage to the box in shipping but the hitch was spotless. Hardware also packed well so it did not come loose in shipping.

by:

I found this site extremely useful looking for an older model application which most companies didn't even stock. they did in not only this rating but many of the other popular applications (I chose 600lb tongue weight)

Hitch arrived fast (I was surprised to see it sitting on days) my front porch within days and when unpacked it was in perfect shape, all the hardware inclosed and not even a scratch on it. It is still a little cold out for me to install it so I'll update with pictures in a few weeks.

Thanks George, now I can get my sailboat out of storage and bring it home for prep to launch this spring.

Trailer hitch has been performing as prescribed so far. Instructions were somewhat confusing for installation. I'd have to see how often the bolts have to be tighten to determine the real quality of the product.

by:

Installation is not easy at all. When you unbolt the bumper brackets and put The hitch brackets on with the bumper brackets under it the bumper brackets will not bolt back to the bumper without drilling out the holes bigger. Not happy with this product at all. Took over 2 hours to install a hitch that says no drilling required. Would not buy this again.

by:

Very impressed! Great quality, easy to attach, looks great! Everyone so impressed on the cost! Fast delivery with great customer service! Very knowledgeable when it came to ordering what I needed! Will recommend highly!!! I plan on doing a lot of camping now that I have my hitch!

by:

The hitch arrived quickly, installed as easily as could be expected, and has thus far served me well.

by:

It has worked out great for our van

by:
1999 Chevrolet Astro

I have not installed it yet. The only thing that I did not like was the fact that box was torn open at one end and hitch was comming out of it. All the parts were there. With that much weight I believe the end of box should be stronger. Someone hadm it all taped together. I don't blame anyone.
Thank you Richard Ryner

2001 Chevrolet Astro

Excellent as usual

by:
1991 Chevrolet Astro

This hitch was just hat I needed. It has three separate parts each installed individually. Being 74 years old the thought of lifting a one piece hitch laying on my back in the grass was not an agreeable prospect. It went together without a problem. This company delivered it very quickly professionally packaged.

2004 Chevrolet Astro

Perfect in all aspects

by:
2018 Chevrolet Astro

Nice hitch ,best price around esp. with free shipping which I might add was only a couple days. Installed on `02 Astro, was simple to install, no drilling ,took maybe 90min at most and the 18 inch rim doughnut spare didn`t have to be messed with.

by:
1999 Chevrolet Astro

high quality - easy install

After my local AutoZone failed twice to get me what I needed at 50 dollars more, I called etrailer and had it in just a few days (faster service than what they promised). Fit was perfect and all is good. Great product info. Thanks guys

by:

The hitch fit good after I figured out that my van is an extended model and I modified the existing bumper braces.

  • Availability of Replacement Trailer Hitch Mounting Flanges for Rusted Hitch
Most of the trailer hitches offered for your 1998 Chevrolet Astro Van, which can be seen on the link provided, feature one-piece welded construction. One exception is the Curt # C13035, which has bolted-on mounting flanges. The two mounting flanges on these are not offered as replacement parts. My contact at Curt confirmed this for me. We offer both 1-1/4-inch Class II and 2-inch Class III hitches for your Astro Van and the link provided will allow you to select a new one. The linked...

  • Measuring to Find Ball Mount with Right Amount of Rise to Tow Trailer Level with 2000 Chevy Astro
You just need a ball mount with the proper amount of rise to tow the trailer level. There are ball mounts with all different rises and drops available. I have included a link that explains how to measure for rise/drop. Then it is just a matter of looking through our selections of ball mounts, see link, to get one with the closest amount of rise needed. There are a couple of other things to consider such as the receiver opening size on the hitch. The hitches available for your 2000 Chevy...

  • Trailer Hitch Fit on 2004 Chevrolet Astro Van with Full-Size Spare Tire
The Curt Class III hitch # C13035 will very likely have interference with a full-size spare, but we do offer both 1-1/4-inch Class II and other 2-inch Class III hitches that do not have this fit issue. The included link will show you three choices in a 1-1/4-inch Class II hitch. If you prefer a 2-inch Class III that does NOT cause spare tire interference you can use Draw-Tite # 75122. An install video on an Astro van is linked for reference.

  • Will CURT Trailer Hitch # 13035 Fit a 1989 Chevy Astro Regular Wheelbase Model
According to CURT, Trailer Hitch, # C13035, will fit all models of the 1989 Chevy Astro van. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you. If you plan on ding some towing, I recommend the etrailer Ball Mount Kit, # 989900, which comes with 2 ball mounts, 2 balls, a pin with clip, and a carrying bag. For trailer wiring, use 4-Pole Hardwire Kit, # 18252. I have included a link to a video showing a typical installation.

  • What Class Hitch to Install on 1999 GMC Safari to Pull 4 x 7 Utility Trailer
Since there is a small cost difference between a 1-1/4-inch Class II and 2-inch Class III hitch, I suggest you go for the higher capacity Class III hitch from Curt, part # C13035. A 2-inch Class III hitch will give you higher capacity (for extra safety margin) plus it will offer broader compatibility with a range of hitch mount accessories. Note that you still need to observe the vehicle's tongue weight capacity, which may be lower than the hitch's. I have linked two helpful articles concerning...

We have several trailer hitches that are considered a fit for your 2000 Chevrolet Astro Van. For this vehicle I would recommend a Class III trailer hitch to allow for greater diversity for hitch mounted accessories. The Curt # C13035 that you referenced is a great option, and is more economical for the Class III options. This hitch is rated for towing up to 4000 pounds and up to 400 pounds of tongue weight. Please note that if you have a full size spare tire this may interfere with the...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver and Ball Mount for 2002 Chevrolet Astro
For your 2002 Chevrolet Astro I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13035. This custom fit Class III hitch has a 2" receiver and a bolt-on installation. It features a concealed cross tube so only the receiver will be visible from the rear. This hitch has a maximum gross trailer weight of 4,000 lbs and tongue weight of 400 lbs which is slightly higher when compared to the Draw-Tite # 75122. Since you are looking for a ball mount, I will assume you plan on towing and also need wiring....

It will also fit a 1998 Chevy Astro but if you have a 16 inch spare tire on the vehicle it will have to be relocated in order for the hitch to fit. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you. If you plan on doing some towing, I recommend using the etrailer Ball Mount Kit, # 989900. • Curt Hitch # C13035 Recommendation for a 1998 Chevy Astro Van
The reason there are hitch classifications is to easily differentiate the different towing capacities for various hitches. Generally speaking, the higher the hitch classification the higher the weight capacities will be for that hitch. So a Class IV will be stronger than a Class III which will be stronger than a Class II. I attached an FAQ page on hitch classifications for you to check out also. • Looking for Trailer Hitch for 1999 Chevy Astro That Doesnt Extend Past Bumper
I'd recommend going with a Class III hitch like the Curt # C13035. A Class III hitch with a 2 inch receiver will allow both a higher capacity than a Class II like the # 90231, but will also have a much better selection of hitch mounted accessories available, such a cargo carrying trays or bike racks. A Class III is usually not any more expensive than a Class II, so there's really no reason not to go with the alternative that would allow you more options and flexibility. As you can see...

  • Trailer Hitch Fit for 1999 Chevy Astro Cargo Van
According to Curt, their # C13035 Class III hitch fits all models of the 1999 Chevy Astro, be it a passenger or a cargo van. If your van has a 16 inch spare tire, you might need to relocate the spare. The Draw-Tite Class III, part # 75122 is compatible with a 16 inch spare, so you might want to go that route instead. Assuming your Astro uses the stock tire size, you'll need a # 2753 ball mount, a # PC3 hitch pin and a # 19260 for a 1-7/8 or # 63845 for a 2 inch hitch ball. For a trailer...
