With a 4,000 lbs maximum gross trailer weight and 400 lbs tongue weight, this Class III hitch gives your vehicle the muscle for light to moderate towing. When used with weight distribution, you get up to 6,000 lbs GTW and 600 lbs TW capacity. It’s ready for pulling small campers, boats, or utility trailers and just as capable carrying bike racks or cargo baskets. The 2" x 2" receiver opening fits the most common accessories, so you can easily switch between towing and gear-hauling duties.
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver bolts directly to the frame — no drilling, cutting, or welding required. It comes with a complete hardware kit and installation instructions, so you can mount it in your driveway using standard tools. The precision, robotic welds ensure proper alignment with factory holes for a smooth fit every time.
Built from fully welded steel, the hitch is solid and durable for years of towing and hauling. The gloss black powder coat finish sits over a protective base layer to resist rust and corrosion, whether you’re driving through rain or over salted winter roads. The round-tube design gives it a clean look that blends well under the bumper while keeping strength where it matters most.
Every hitch includes lifetime technical support from etrailer.com’s expert installers. It’s built for real-world use with a design that keeps the receiver flush with the bumper for easy access to ball mounts or accessories. Whether you’re setting up a bike rack, hooking up a small trailer, or adding cargo space for a trip, this hitch gives your vehicle dependable capability without extra hassle.

I recommend watching the video installation that we have on a 2004 GMC Canyon. We do not recommend modifying the hardware that comes with the hitch.
