Expert Reply:
The available trailer hitches that are confirmed to fit the 2010 Chevy Colorado, the Draw-Tite Class III # 75607 and the Curt Class III # 13252, will not also fit the 2011 Jeep Patriot. Both of these trailer hitches are custom designed to fit certain model years of the Chevy Colorado, GMC Canyon, and Isuzu I-Series Pickup, but will not be compatible with the Jeep Patriot.
For the 2011 Jeep Patriot, I recommend the Draw-Tite Class III Max Frame Receiver Hitch # 75712. This is a sturdy Class III hitch that will provide a 2 inch receiver opening and a 3,500 pound towing weight capacity. No drilling is required for installation. Just keep in mind that if your Jeep is equipped with the optional tow hook, it will need to be removed for installation. It can be reinstalled after the hitch is mounted.
I have attached an installation video on the 2011 Jeep Patriot that you can use for reference.
