Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Wide Bracket Strap Hinge from Polar Hardware. This is for use on trailer and truck bodies. It's made from strong, durable aluminum construction. It's going to be highly resistant to rust and corrosion. The strap, it's going to have three mount holes on it. It's going to feature a non-removable center pin for maximum security.
The hinge mounting portion's going to have three mount holes on it, as well. If we take a measurement of the over all length, measuring from very end to very end, that's going to give us a measurement of pretty close to 11 1/8". Measuring from the center of the pin to the end of the strap is going to be closer to 8" long. The strap width, that's going measure 2" wide. Then the distance between the mount holes on that portion, going on center, is going to measure about 2 7/16". All the holes on the unit are going to have a diameter of 5/16".
Mounting hardware's not included. Here at the hinge, if we take a measurement, top to bottom, we're looking at 4 1/2". If we take a measurement of the depth, measuring from this point right here, kind of this flat point, to the end, that's going to give us a measurement of 2 3/8". From the center of the pin to to the back of the hinge, the very back, we're looking at about 3 1/8". Now these mount holes right here, these are separated on center by about 3 1/4". Then a diagonal measurement between these holes, it's going to be about 2 1/8". Really nice design.
This would get mounted, and then this portion right here would get attached to the door. Then, as you swing open, you can see that it allows for full opening, really nice design of the unit. Again, it's going to feature a non-removable pin for maximum security. That's going to do it for today's look at the Wide Bracket Strap Hinge from Polar Hardware.
