When a brake assembly is worn out, rebuilding individual brake parts can turn into extra time under the trailer. This right-hand assembly gives your compatible heavy-duty trailer axle a complete brake assembly replacement, keeping the repair focused on swapping the assembly instead of chasing separate internal components.
Manual brake adjustments are one of those trailer jobs most owners would rather not repeat. This self-adjusting design maintains proper brake adjustment as components wear, which keeps your braking performance more consistent and eliminates the need to crawl back under the trailer for manual brake adjustments.
Brake fit matters before the old assembly comes off. This assembly is for the right hand, or passenger's side, and matches 12-1/4" diameter x 5" wide brakes with a 7 bolt mounting flange pattern on 12,000 lbs to 16,000 lbs axles. Mounting bolts and hardware are not included, so your install plan needs to account for those before the trailer is apart.
If you're replacing both brake assemblies at the same time, you don't have to hunt for each side separately. We offer a kit with both the right-hand and left-hand assemblies (LC56MP), which keeps the paired brake setup easier to order.

Hi everyone. Steve here with etrailer. Let's take a look at our Lippert Electric Trailer Brake Assembly. It's a self-adjusting for the right-hand side assembly, and it's going to be on a 12,000 to 16,000 pound axle. So folks, trailer brake is obviously your number one component that's going to help you stop, and you're going to need that working good every time. So this is a self-adjusting design.
That's what that cable mechanism is for connected to the arm, and that's going to maintain proper brake adjustment as the components wear down. So there's no need for manual brake adjustments. Just let it do its thing. Now this is also going to then lead to better braking efficiency, less wear and tear on your tow vehicle's brakes. As you can see, this is a nice five-inch wide brake shoe, and you got the backing plate there, the dust plate.
And then, of course, you have the wires coming out the back to wire up. That way your magnet and everything is working well. And then, of course, you got your adjustment star wheel down there. There are rubber plugs in the backing plate there. This is a seven-bolt mount flange.
So you can look at that red mounting flange right in the middle. And this is a 12-and-a-quarter inch diameter assembly. And again, that five-inch wide, this is your right hand assembly or passenger side. If you need the left hand brake assembly, that is sold separately, and that's item number LC27ZP. Perfect fit for my Lippert 7k axles. The passenger side was worse than the driver's side. Wires were cut on both on passenger side. One of the passenger side completely fell apart when I removed the drum wit one lone spring still hanging on. While the driver's side only needed shoes, I decided to order new for that side also. That gave me self adjusting housings all around. Very pleased!!
