Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. And today, we're gonna take a look at this Dexter 12 1/4 inch by five-inch trailer brake drum for 12,000 pound and 15,000 pound axles. Trailer brake drums provide the surface area for your brake shoes to grip when your brakes are activated. This trailer brake drum is designed to work with Dexter 12,000 pound low-profile and high profile axles, and 15,000 pound heavy-duty axles. This is compatible with non-ABS electric and hydraulic drum brakes.
This is made in the USA of a sturdy iron construction with a weight capacity of 7,500 pounds. And let me step over here to the front of the table here and just confirm some measurements with you. The diameter, we're gonna be sitting, as I mentioned earlier, right at 12 1/4 inches. And then measuring that width, we are sitting right at about five inches on that width. And the pilot hole diameter is 4 3/4 inches.
And this is going to work with a bolt pattern of eight on 6 1/2 inches. To determine your bolt pattern, of course, the first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. And that second number is gonna denote the diameter in inches of the circle on which the bolt holes sit. So, to determine the bolt circle diameter on wheels with an even number of bolt holes, you're just gonna simply measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the other hole directly across from it. Well, that's gonna conclude our brief look today.
