This compact brake controller fits nicely in your cab. You can mount it anywhere you like and it's only 1" thick. The LED display keeps it simple with bar indicators, while the large manual override is easy to reach in a pinch.

Specs:
Gain is the maximum amount of power that will be applied to your trailer's brakes. How much braking output you need is determined by the weight of your trailer; a heavier trailer will need more power to bring it to a stop. You want to go as high as you can without the trailer brakes locking up.
Once you have the gain set, you can fine-tune your braking by adjusting the load control. This controls the aggressiveness of your trailer's braking, meaning how quickly the brakes reach the maximum braking level. If your vehicle takes too long to come to a stop, increase the setting. If it stops too abruptly, decrease the setting.
The LED display on the Venturer is large and easy to read at a glance. It will show you what setting the brake controller is on as well as give you information for troubleshooting. You can adjust the screen brightness or trigger night mode so it won't glare obnoxiously on your dash.
Because inertia plays no role in the functioning of this controller, you do not have to mount the unit at any particular angle. Your mounting options are limitless, so long as you can still easily access the controller and the manual override. The included bracket is designed to mount the brake controller flush to the dash so it takes up almost no space at all.
If your vehicle already has a plug-in brake controller wiring harness, just connect the unit to it. Otherwise, you will need to purchase a vehicle-specific wiring harness (sold separately) to plug into. If a harness is unavailable for your vehicle, hardwiring will be necessary.
Note: If a custom brake control wiring adapter is not available for your vehicle, one of the following will be required:
20-Amp circuit breaker (9506P - sold separately) for 2- to 4-brake applications
30-Amp circuit breaker (38630 - sold separately) for 6- to 8-brake applications
If you don't already have a 7-way plug at the back of your vehicle, take a look at our exclusive 7- and 4-way brake control installation kit (ETBC7 - sold separately).
Time-delayed braking means that when you apply the brakes in your vehicle, the controller activates the trailer brakes at a pre-set intensity and rate. Both the amount of braking power (gain) and rate of application (load) can be adjusted to suit your preference, the road conditions, the type of trailer, and the weight of your load. To determine which levels are best for your application, test your towing setup and choose what feels right.

Hello neighbors and friends. Welcome back. I'm Steven here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the CURT Venturer NEXT brake controller for one to three axles. These are time delayed and there's a quantity of six. So folks, if you're watching this, most likely you're a dealer or a shop or something of that nature.
You're getting a quantity of six here. Package deal. And these are a nice set of brake controllers. As you know, they activate your trailer brakes with the preset intensity. They're very adjustable as far as the power output control.
That'll let you select the amount of brake force and the rocker switches that are located on the left front here. You can kind of hear them clicking. You can do those rocker switches and they're very easy access. You have 10 gain settings and nine load settings to allow you to adapt to various driving conditions and that kind of thing. Now you select a higher setting for higher braking or harder braking and a lower setting for more gradual braking.
And zooming in here, I can show you. So it's got that pinch trigger style trigger and that manual override is gonna be easily to reach, it's gonna control the trailer sway or stop the trailer in case of emergencies. It's got a very nice simple LED display monitor. Not gonna be able to light it up for you today just because of the lack of power whatnot. But if you look at the instructions here, you can see right there it's got the A, and then all the different notches there.
That's kinda what that display would look like. Now again, LED display, simple to use, simple to read. It has built-in self diagnostics. That'll help monitor your trailer connection, check for shorts, that kind of stuff. And again, you can adjust the brightness for optimal visibility. The power display will show in increments of 1.0 and you can adjust those accordingly. It also has a nice auto sleep mode that helps prevent the battery drain after five minutes of idle. So let's say for whatever reason you're sitting there at idle with your foot on the brake, maybe in traffic or something, it automatically put that in the sleep mode to prevent your battery drain. Very nice plug on the back. You can purchase separately a vehicle specific brake controller plug to just plug in for install to reduce that installation process. Those are sold separately. You can also mount it any angle, so you don't have to mount this level. Some brake controls out until you gotta mount it level or a certain angle. You don't have to do it with this guy. You also get the included mounting bracket. Simply squeeze those guys there. That makes it come off. You're gonna get six included sets of zip ties, the two screws to install this guy here, the mounting bracket and the self adhesive 3M tape there. And like I said, the mounting bracket, simply screw that up into the dash or wherever you're mounting it. The brake controller slides in and clicks. There you go. And again, squeeze these guys to undo it. Simple install, simple to use. You're also gonna get six of these cards. That's basically like a quick reference guide of some of the messages you could get on there and that kind of stuff. And like I showed you earlier, you're gonna get six instruction manuals as well. Now folks, there again is six of these. They work with trailers up to three axles or six brake assemblies. They do work also with low volt PWM, ABS, cruise control and also electrical over hydraulic trailer brakes. The units themselves are four inches long, three and an eighth inches wide and approximately one inch thick. They have a nice lifetime limited warranty and I think you're gonna be pretty happy with these. Well folks, that's gonna do it for our look at this CURT Venturer NEXT brake controller that are compatible with one to three axles. They're time delayed and again, you get a quantity of six. I'm Steven, thank you so much for your time. Thanks for watching. Have fun out there.
