Specs:
Replace your existing grease cap with a Bearing Buddy to ensure a safe, easy way to monitor and control the level of grease in your axle hub. To adjust the amount of grease in the hub, use a grease gun to add more through the appropriate fitting. Adding grease moves the Bearing Buddy spring-loaded piston outward 1/8" and reveals a blue auto-check ring so you know it's full.
The O-ring inside the barrel of the Bearing Buddy maintains a seal from the outside. The interior of the Bearing Buddy is pressurized, preventing water from entering the barrel and diluting the grease.
An automatic pressure-relief feature is built into the Bearing Buddy. When the device is full, grease will seep around the edges of the piston and into the barrel, revealing a blue ring. This prevents overfilling that can damage the inner seal.
You can manually check the grease level in your Bearing Buddy by checking the blue auto-check ring. If it has receded flush with the steel retaining ring, more grease is needed. If you can see the blue ring, the hub is properly filled.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com today. Today, we're gonna take a look at the Bearing Buddy chrome-plated bearing protectors with the auto-check and it's for the 2.441 hub bore. It is for a quantity of two bearing protectors. Now, these are great for marine applications. Basically the design makes the Bearing Buddy an easy way to protect your bearings by keeping water out and ensuring enough grease is in the hub. Basically, you'll replace your grease caps on your axle hub with these and provide your trailer bearings with premium protection.
Prevents wheel bearing failure by providing an easy way to control the grease volume in your axle hub and it helps keep water and dirt out of the hubs and the bearings, allows your boat trailer wheels to be completely submerged in water, and it stops corrosion and pitting on the bearings. If you notice right here, they have easily accessible grease Zerk fitting on them, makes adding grease to the bearings very quick and simple, just attach your grease gun to the Zerk fitting, pump grease in there. This will maintain a slight control pressure about three PSI with the spring loaded piston that prevents water from entering the hub. It does allow visual monitoring of your grease levels using this blue indicator ring right here. This ring will sit flush with the top of the cylinder when full.
And if the ring is below the top, you just add grease to move the piston outward about an eighth of an inch. Also prevents overfilling and rear seal damage with the automatic pressure relief feature. The grease seeps around the piston edges and into the barrel in full. Now, these are constructed of stainless steel internal parts and triple chrome-plated steel barrel, does ensure a longer lasting fit than plastic or aluminum products. And if you notice, comes with the rubber protective covers on it, that when you're finished filling it, just put the cover over there and that'll keep any of the elements from getting inside there.
And when you do go to install these, these do install easily by putting them on the hub and then using a block of wood against the Bearing Buddy and then just tap it into place with the hammer. That way it'll go on equally. These parts are made in the USA. Again, the specs on this part, it fits the 2.441 inch hub bore diameter. Now, these are also available in other diameters to fit your hub size for your application.
This part number here works with the outer bearing model number, part number LM-67048, which is commonly found on the 4,400 pound, 5,200 pound 6,000 pound, and even the 7,000 pound Dexter axles. But that should do it for the review on the Bearing Buddy chrome-plated bearing protectors with the auto-check feature for the 2.441 hub bore.
