Features to know about

When There's Nothing to Hook to but a Hitch

The trail's washed out and you're the one pulling someone through it. You grab the strap and reach for the only solid anchor you've got. This hitch slides in fast and locks up tight. That line pulls straight, and the rig follows.

Set It Up How Your Rig Needs It

Aftermarket bumper's in the way? No problem. Four pin holes let you run it shallow or give it extra reach. Flip it vertical, run it horizontal, whatever the setup calls for. It's quick to adjust and ready to pull hard either way.

Video Transcript for BulletProof Hitches Heavy-Duty Shackle Hitch Feature Breakdown

Hi, Matt etrailer. If you're looking for a tow shackle that's gonna be reliable and easy to use when you are recovering a vehicle, then BulletProof Hitches, Recovery Tow Shackle is gonna be a great option for you. Now, this is gonna be for the person who's doing some pretty heavy duty overlanding or even some commercial use. You're looking for something that's gonna be, like I said, easy to use and versatile, get you out of a number of situations and reliable enough well after a lot of uses, this isn't gonna break on you. Now this is gonna be a little bit overkill for how we're gonna be using it today, but it'll be a great way to still demonstrate on how it's gonna work. Now, and if you do decide to go with this, we'd love to hear how it's working for you in either a comment or a review and hear what kind of stories it's got you or your friends out of.

So today we're mainly gonna be talking about how we're gonna hook up with this and how it's gonna feel to pull something behind us and as you showcase that. Once I'm done with that, I'll go over some of the specs, I'm gonna give you my final thoughts, but hooking up to this is super easy. What you gotta do is once this is in here, just grab your strap that you can be towing with or pulling anything behind you just like that. As you can see, there's gonna be plenty of room within this ring to get even those larger ropes or straps or chains through here, and this is gonna work fairly easy. And as getting this into place in your hitch, it's as easy as just pulling a clip pen and taking out and putting it in there.

And, of course, you can put this in other orientations, either horizontal or vertical. I'll have to keep mine horizontal most times though. But once we have that set, I wanna make sure I hook up my recovery rope behind me too. So today, as you can see, we're not in any type of emergency situation where we're stuck in some snow or mud, but this should give you an idea of how this is gonna work. And when I was pulling this behind me, it did did feel fairly smooth, and part of that's gonna be due to what you're pulling with, whether that be a rope or a chain.

But the way this handled that whole process was really nice, I don't have any type of scuffing or damage to the shackle itself. And on top of that, I think this was also smooth because this does pivot for us. If it was some type of shackle that doesn't pivot at all, we might've got caught in a weird or got snagged in some type of awkward situation. Now let's jump into some of the specs. So with this, this is gonna be super durable, very strong, and it's gonna be 'cause this is made up of solid steel.

It's gonna have this kind of more rugged black powder coat finish to it. And that's something that BulletProof Hitches are known for, just quality goods and they just feel strong. They are a little bit heavy, but you know they're gonna last. But here you're gonna look here, we don't have any hole in the center of the shank, so you know it is solid. Now we are gonna have a couple points where we do have some holes in it, and that's gonna be for these pin holes, you can tell we're gonna have two locations for that. So if you want it to sit a little bit further away from your vehicle, you can have it or a little bit closer in. Now we can also rotate this, like I was saying earlier, by 90 degrees. So this is just giving you more versatility or more options from it if you're in any type of odd situation. We'll also wanna have another option here too, and that is to remove this completely. So we can just remove this loop just by unthreading this pin here and this is actually really easy to grab. Let me unthread that the rest of the way. There we have it, it's almost there, just like that. So if you ever need to replace this or take it off for any type of situation, or if you have a different hook on hand, you can put it on here instead. But overall, I think this is gonna be a solid choice. If you are looking for something that's gonna last a long time and it's gonna be reliable for you, and just at the end of the day, be easy for you. If you ever need to take it out for whatever reason, it's not gonna be stuck to your vehicle. Now we are gonna have some other options here on our website because let's say maybe this just isn't strong enough for you, you need a heavier weight capacity, or maybe you don't need that much weight capacity at all. BulletProof is gonna have a couple more options. One's gonna be rated at 30,000 pounds and another one's gonna be rated at 14,000 pounds if you really like this type of design. But of course, if you guys have any other questions, please let us know here at etrailer. And again, I'm Matt, and thanks for watching.
