Magnetic LED Tow Lights

A towed vehicle is required by law to have functional brake and signal lights that illuminate at the same time as the brake and signal lights on the motorhome or RV that is towing it. These removable tow lights make it easy to add running lights, brake lights, and turn signals to your towed car or trailer.

Simply mount the lights on your vehicle's trunk or roof with the heavy-duty magnetic bases. A 63" long section of wiring connects the tow lights, giving you enough slack to position the lights where you want them. Then run the 245" long wiring harness up to the front of your towed vehicle and across your tow bar and connect it to the 4-way flat on your RV.

If your RV doesn't have a trailer connector, then you can wire the extra 35" long 4-way harness that comes with this kit to your RV. And if your RV has a 6-way or 7-way trailer connector, an adapter (sold separately) will be required to connect the tow lights to your RV.

Sonically Sealed, Waterproof Trailer Light

The waterproof construction of this light makes it ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a boat trailer. The housing and lens are sonically sealed together to create a single unit, which means that water will not get into the light and damage the diodes or circuit board.

The wiring length should be increased by at least five feet. We have a small vehicle and still needed to use an extension. Otherwise it is a terrific solution.

Have not used yet but I think it will be great

by:

Bought these magnetic trailer lights for my hitch-mounted e-bike rack. With two bikes on the rack, the rear car lights are partly obscured. These lights attach firmly to the rack with the magnets but I will secure them with straps as the rack surface is rounded. Plenty bright. Haven’t gone any distance yet, but I will drive reassured that the cars behind will better see my braking and turning.

These work fine and are bright. I plant them behind my toad's roof rack and add a little duck tape for security. I have lost other ones before. It may be overkill on these as magnet is good.

I've seen magnetic tow lights before but not like these LED's. As soon as they arrived I opened them up, checked them out and they are very well built, the magnets seem very firm and they are BRIGHT. The video on the ETrailer site does no represent how bright these light are in my opinion. Very pleased with the quality and how visible these lights are.

Great product, just as described. I am using it on my kayak trailer to replace the original incadescent lights.

  • Lighting Options for Flat-Towing 1997 Jeep Wrangler With a Truck
There are several options for lighting kits to allow flat-towing a vehicle. These range from the easiest-to-install and remove magnetic types, to independent bulb-and-socket kits that bypass the dinghy's wiring to hard-wired diode kits that require cutting into the dinghy's wiring. For ease of installation the magnetic type will be preferred as these require no alternation of the towed vehicle; they are also a cost-effective option. For example, Optronics offers their # TLL21RK 20-Foot...

  • How Strong Are The Magnets On The Optronics Magnetic LED Tow Light Kit?
Optronics does not have a weight rating for their Magnetic LED Tow Light Kit # TLL21RK, however, this magnet is very strong and has been road tested at high speeds in varying weather conditions. This product is also made from durable polycarbonate, and is sonically sealed to waterproof the lens and housing from weather damage.

  • Recommended Temporary Brake Lights For 10 Foot Box Truck
I recommend to use Magnetic LED Tow Light Kit - Weatherproof - Red Lens - 20' Wiring Harness part # TLL21RK which plugs into a 4-way connector on the truck. The lights will act as running, brake lights and turn signals once plugged in. However, they are designed for flat towing a vehicle so you may consider checking into the laws of your state before using these on the box truck just to be safe. If you do not have a 4-way connector please let me know the year make and model of the truck...

  • Why Can Optronics Magnetic Tow Lights Only be Used with Vehicles Under 80 Inches
There are certain lighting requirements for vehicles or trailers that are over 80 inches wide that magnetic lights such as # TLL21RK cannot provide. You would need front and rear clearance lamps that are mounted at a 45 degree angle (PC rated). So if the back of the vehicle was a square for example, the light would be at the corner pointed half way between the side and the rear of the vehicle. They need to be placed as high as possible. You also need rear identification lamps (3) centered...

  • Both Turn Signals Blink on MaxxTow Tow Lights # MT70097 When Tow Vehicle Signals Are On
If both the left and right turn signals on your MaxxTow Tow Lights MT70097 blink when either turn signal is activated on the tow vehicle the first thing to check is the condition of both connectors. Since the left- and right-turn signal circuits on a 4-pole are adjacent to each other (green and yellow wires), it is possible that corrosion in the connector can cause these two separate circuits to become bridged together. This condition could also explain the dim light output, since two...

  • LED Tow Bar Lighting Kit that Could be Used on Trailer or Flat Towed Vehicle
Sounds like you are looking for a set of LED magnetic tow lights like the part # TLL21RK that you referenced. This is only way to add temporary lights to a trailer or flat towed vehicle like you mentioned and is LED like you want as well.

  • Recommended Magnetic Towing Lights For 2015 Volkswagen GTI On Tow Dolly

  • Portable LED Lights with 4-Pole Connection
Optronics LED Combination Tail Light Kit # TLL9RK has lights that use a separate white ground wire that normally would ground to the trailer. Then the trailer 4-pole wiring would in turn carry that ground back to the tow vehicle via its 4-pole wiring. One way or another these lights' ground must connect to the vehicle's ground. There is an easier solution for temporary lighting, a portable LED light kit like # TLL21RK. This kit includes two magnetic-base lights with a prewired 4-pole with...

  • Available Magnetic Type Tow Lights for Flat Towed Vehicle
Stop, turn and tail light functions can be provided by basic 4-pole wiring, such as by the trailer wiring harness # 118552 that fits your 2014 Patriot or a flat towing (dinghy) harness that connects the RV lighting signals to the dinghy. If you are looking to add the cargo box lights as supplements to your standard flat tow lighting you will want to consider a few things. First, additional lights will demand more power and so I suggest using high-efficiency LED type lights that will be...

This will plug into a 4 way flat on your RV, or if you've got a 7 way connector you can use the Hopkins Heavy-Duty Trailer Coiled Wire Adapter for 7-Way to 4-Wire Flat # HM47065 you mentioned.
