This setup keeps your front end looking clean when you’re not towing. The invisible base plate design hides bulky brackets and crossbars so nothing sticks out once the removable arms are off. Snap-in receiver covers keep dirt and debris out of the sockets, protecting the connection points so everything fits smoothly the next time you hook up.
Connecting your tow bar doesn’t have to be a chore. Each arm slides in, twists, and locks into place with a simple movement that feels solid every time. The twist-lock attachment makes it quick to secure the tow bar—even if you’re working alone—and just as easy to release when it’s time to unhook.

No need to replace your existing tow bar setup. This base plate works directly with etrailer, Blue Ox, Demco Kwik-Tow, and Curt Rambler tow bars without adapters. If you’re using a Roadmaster system, it’s adaptable with part numbers e98983, e98984, e98979, or e98981 (sold separately). That flexibility makes it easy to keep your current gear in play across different setups.
This kit bolts to existing attachment points for a solid connection that spreads towing forces evenly through the frame. With a bracket distance of 19-1/2" and bracket height of 18", it’s ready for serious use on long hauls. The included hardware ensures a straightforward bolt-on install that keeps things tight and reliable over time.
When the arms are off, high-density polyethylene covers snap into place to seal out moisture and road grime. They help prevent corrosion inside the receivers so everything stays ready for your next trip. It’s a simple detail that adds years of dependable performance to your towing setup.

Still working perfectly. Towed the jeep about 2000 miles from WA State down to Disneyland and then to Las Vegas and back. Plus dozens of camping trips.

Hi Shawn, the etrailer Invisible Base Plates part # e66GV are not a fit for the 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee, which is why the shutters had to be removed, and the instructions didn't cover it. These base plates fit the previous 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee model, but due to changes in the fascia and bumper they're not a fit for the 2026 model due to those modifications. However, the actual frame of the 2026 Grand Cherokee is still the same as the 2025 model, so the base plates are safe to tow with.
