When you’re hauling tools or gear, you don’t want to worry about rain, snow, or someone peeking into your bed. The RetraxPRO MX uses 1" thick aluminum slats that are impact and weather resistant to keep your cargo safe and hidden. Its matte black finish resists scratches and won’t fade in the sun, so it stays looking sharp while holding up to 500 lbs of evenly distributed weight. Weather stripping and foam seals on all sides, plus an overlap at the tailgate, help keep out moisture, dust, and debris for dependable protection year-round.
You can slide this cover open or closed in seconds thanks to sealed ball-bearing rollers that glide smoothly without lubrication. The pop-up, locking handle at the driver’s side lets you move the cover easily with one hand and lock it in any position along the rails. That means you can keep the cover partially closed to protect smaller items up front while hauling longer cargo at the back. When fully retracted, the cover rolls into a compact canister that sits at the bulkhead, leaving the rest of your bed open for work or weekend gear.
Unlike covers that rub or bind as they retract, the RetraxPRO MX uses a spiral track inside the canister that keeps the slats from touching each other. This design prevents wear and helps the cover roll smoothly every time. Two built-in drain tubes at the bottom of the canister channel away any water that gets inside, routing it through existing bed drain holes so the stored cover stays dry and mildew-free. The canister’s angled bottom also leaves extra room underneath for sliding in smaller items.
The side rails sit just 1" above the bed for a clean, low-profile appearance that blends with your truck’s lines. With no drilling required, the rails clamp securely to the bed sides using provided hardware. The flush-mounted handle and overlapping top panel finish off the sleek, solid look while helping eliminate gaps where dirt or water could sneak in. Everything about the RetraxPRO MX is built for a refined fit that works hard without getting in your way.

Today we're going to be taking a look at the RetraxPro MX Hard Tonneau Cover in matte black. You can upgrade your old tonneau cover and not have to worry about any snapping or hook and loop connections. The RetraxPro MX Hard Tonneau Cover is the best way to cover up your truck bed. One of it's great features is, it can be locked anywhere along the rails you please. It's perfect for keeping your gear dry, covering up that fifth wheel head and you can even use it to secure your elongated cargo. The latch itself doubles as a handle. When you're ready to lock it, it sits flush within the cover and you can lock it up with the included keys.
When you've done that you can put the cover over top. The whole thing rolls up into the flush mounted box for a low profile design. It only takes up about 12 inches of space behind your cab. It's a simple clamp on installation and the rails only sit about an 1-1/4" high on top of our truck bed rails. Here on the inside they take up about 1-3/4". The sealed ball bearing rollers within the cover make opening and closing easy.
And because they're sealed, they're maintenance free. The whole thing is made out of an industrial strength aluminum, it's gonna keep out the elements and it can support distributed loads of up to 500 pounds. When used with the locking tailgate, it's furthers your security. The whole thing is UV protected and it features a limited lifetime warranty. It's an easy no drill installation, it simply attaches to your truck bed rails with the provided clamps. And that's going to complete our look at the RetraxPro MX Hard Tonneau Cover.

After about a year owning this cover, I still would buy it again. If you set it up right in the first place, it will work flawlessly. The locking mechanism still works great. The rolling part still works great. Aside from a solid cover, this is the most secure cover I have ever had. It does get some drips of water inside after washing the truck but its not enough to worry about, even if you had a bed full of stuff.

So on the plus side, love how it opens all the way up. When were loading the bed for travel, I need it fully open. Downside is the amount of room the canister takes up and the water as previously mentioned. Still quite easy to use!
