Provider Radials with Automotive-Grade Tread

Provider Tread Vs Standard Tread

Unlike standard trailer tire tread, which has solid, continuous ribs, the automotive-grade tread on these Provider radials has ribs with breaks. These breaks allow water to run off to the sides. The Provider tread also has sipes. Siping is a process in which thin grooves (or sipes) are cut into the rubber of the tire. The grooves channel water away from the tread so that the tire makes better contact with the road. Both of these features greatly improve traction during wet, snowy, or icy conditions.

Provider radials are constructed with double polyester cords and double steel belts for increased durability and endurance. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation. Provider radials are bake tested - a process usually reserved for automotive tires - to ensure that the rubber holds up over time.

Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires

Radial tire vs bias tire graphic

Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.

This is one of the few load rating D trailer tires available anywhere in 14". My boat/trailer (triple axle) combo checks in right at 10500 lbs so C rated tires were at their max. These tires allow me to have a safety margin. Although I don't know what the long term will bring in durability I'm very satisfied so far. I've made several purchases from etrailer and they've never disappointed me with products or services. 256730

Very pleased with my purchase. This tire is perfect for my boat trailer, since I have a 20 ft. Deep V double haul boat that came with a single axle trailer. I have had two blow outs on my other 6 ply tires. I received them last night, I even received a email from George at etrailer telling me that my tires had been delivered. I had them installed today and plan on taking the boat out for a run. With a single axle trailer, I'm so happy with the D load rating. I will purchase more soon for my RV Trailer. Thanks, George and Tori B 275152

The two Taskmaster ST215/75 R 14 tires for my '07 Casita arrived on schedule and were promptly installed. I was pleased not only by their apparent condition, but by the fact that (per the #s on the tires) they were "fresh"....having been manufactured in July of this year. The installer noted that very little weight was needed to balance either of them....a good sign. Now to put them to on-the-road use! 228588

In the past year, Ive put about 6,000 miles on them. No problems....and they have held their balance well. I keep them covered from the sun when the RV isnt in actual use. Well pleased!

I installed these on my Phoenix 618 single axle boat in September replacing load C's. I estimated my total rig weight at 3200 but then someone on bassboatscentral measured the axle weight of my rig at 3240 making total weight close to 3500. This pushed me to get the Taskmasters. I noticed right away that I could move the boat by hand a touch easier then before. Thursday I started a 1000 mile drive to south FLA and drove my load C tire historical 67mph for the first 100 miles. To my shock I noted my mileage improved by roughly 1.5 to 2mpg. The remaining 900 miles I drove my full HW speed of about 74 to 77mph. At this increased speed, I got the same fuel consumption as I did with the old load C's at 67mph. The greater tire pressure is my best guess at why the rolling resistance is lower. The tires towed very smoothly and even though it was 88 in Orlando yesterday, my wheels felt cool to touch. So glad I got these tires. Will update in about 18 months 314097

Have yet to put any significant miles on them, but overall am very pleased with my purchase. They are a very sturdy, well made tire with a great tread pattern. Had no issue mounting them on my trailers current rims, even though the last set of tires were 205's. Looking forward to many happy and incident free miles with these. 322846

Quick shipping.. Ordered on Tues, delivered on Fri. After reading reviews, I was convinced these tires were what I needed.. After examining the mfr date code, I was surprised to see they were made in 2016... A call to etrailer followed, and I was given the option of a reship or not, I chose not. I was assured the warranty was the same, no matter when they were manufactured.. Hopefully I made the right choice... Time will tell.. 612118

Its not unheard of for tires to arrive at our location that were manufactured a year or more before we receive them. The tires are manufactured overseas. After they are manufactured, they sit in a warehouse for a period of time until theyre packed in a shipping container and sit awaiting shipment. They are ultimately loaded on a container ship and shipped to the US. The trip here and entry through US Customs can easily take more than a month. The tires then can sit in a warehouse in the US until we order and receive them. Tires that are stored in a warehouse under controlled conditions dont age or dry rot like tires that are exposed to the elements and UV radiation do. The fact that your tires were a bit older when you received them will not have any effect on their lifespan or durability. They should be good for up to 6-7 years, assuming they are not stored in direct sunlight, not overloaded, kept properly inflated and their speed rating isnt being exceeded.

I bought four of these Provider ST215/75R14 radial tires for my boat trailer. With an 8 ply rating and a Load Range Rating of D, I feel very confident on the road. The tread design on these tires is also much more impressive than the typical trailer tire tread found on the Carlisle tires that I replaced. Upon delivery, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the tires were boxed individually, protecting them from any abuse on their journey across the country, from the east side of Missouri all the way to California AND they were delivered on time as promised. I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase from etrailer.com. 299751

  • Trailer Tire Size ST205/75R14 or ST215/75R14 in Load Range D with Galvanized Wheel
Best option we have would be a Load Range D tire size 215/75R14 like the part # TTWTRTM2157514D with a gavanized wheel like one of the following: # AM20354 # AM20364 We don't have any galvanized wheels pre-mounted with tires in those sizes so this would be only way we could get you the two things you mentioned. Unless you'd be okay with an aluminum wheel and 205 tire like # AM34659 which is also corrosion resistant.

  • Goodyear Trailer Tire Recommendation to Replace Tire Size 215/75R15 on Trailer that Failed
The tire size you mentioned is not a standard trailer tire size so it is most likely a passenger vehicle tire which should not be used on a trailer. If it was a trailer size the numbers should have started with ST. Typically vehicle tires start with the letter P. The closest tire size is going to be the ST225/75R15 like the # 724857519 which has a ply rating of 10, Load Range of E, and most importantly a weight capacity of 2,830 lbs at 80 psi, plus a speed rating of 87 mph. The Provider Tire part # TTWTRTM2157514D that you are interested in are a great option for the tire size of ST215/75R14 that you mentioned. These are Load Range D with the capacities of 2,200 lbs at 65 psi and have a higher speed rating of 81 mph. 65 psi should be no problem at all for your current rims as most are rated for much higher than that. You might only check to make sure your valve stems are rated that high as that is typically the weak point.

  • What is the Size Difference Between a 205/75-14 and a 215/75-14 Trailer Tire
That would all depended on the aspect ratio of the 215 tire. For example, a ST205/75-14 tire has an overall diameter of 26.1" and width of 8.1". A ST215/75-14 tire has an overall diameter of 26.7" and width of 8.5". Therefore, as long as you have an additional .3" of room between the tire/fender and .4" between the tire/frame then a ST215/75-14 tire will work for you. Please keep in mind that you will also need about 3" or so of clearance between the top of the tire and bottom of the fender...

  • Recommended Replacement ST215/75R14 Boat Trailer Tires
I recommend going with the Taskmaster Provider ST215/75R14 tire. One of the most popular features of most Taskmaster tires is the 81 mph speed rating. Since a lot of trailer tires are rated for only 65 mph, these tires will allow you to make better time on the road. Both tires also come with a 2-year limited warranty. I...

Rest assured these tires do meet D.O.T. standards and exceed Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. I can confirm for you that these ST215/75R14 tires are from Taskmaster. They likely do not have a full offering of their products available online because they are not direct retailers, they allow vendors like ourselves to sell their products.
