Provider Radials with Automotive-Grade Tread

Provider Tread Vs Standard Tread

Unlike standard trailer tire tread, which has solid, continuous ribs, the automotive-grade tread on these Provider radials has ribs with breaks. These breaks allow water to run off to the sides. The Provider tread also has sipes. Siping is a process in which thin grooves (or sipes) are cut into the rubber of the tire. The grooves channel water away from the tread so that the tire makes better contact with the road. Both of these features greatly improve traction during wet, snowy, or icy conditions.

Provider radials are constructed with double polyester cords and double steel belts for increased durability and endurance. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation. Provider radials are bake tested - a process usually reserved for automotive tires - to ensure that the rubber holds up over time.

Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires

Radial tire vs bias tire graphic

Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.

I do a lot of towing on highways. Purchase load range D trailer tires for my boat trailer vs load range C trailer tires. Service was great and simple . The information on the website made my decision easy purchasing these trailer tires. 571425

This is one of the few load rating D trailer tires available anywhere in 14". My boat/trailer (triple axle) combo checks in right at 10500 lbs so C rated tires were at their max. These tires allow me to have a safety margin. Although I don't know what the long term will bring in durability I'm very satisfied so far. I've made several purchases from etrailer and they've never disappointed me with products or services. 256730

I installed these on my Phoenix 618 single axle boat in September replacing load C's. I estimated my total rig weight at 3200 but then someone on bassboatscentral measured the axle weight of my rig at 3240 making total weight close to 3500. This pushed me to get the Taskmasters. I noticed right away that I could move the boat by hand a touch easier then before. Thursday I started a 1000 mile drive to south FLA and drove my load C tire historical 67mph for the first 100 miles. To my shock I noted my mileage improved by roughly 1.5 to 2mpg. The remaining 900 miles I drove my full HW speed of about 74 to 77mph. At this increased speed, I got the same fuel consumption as I did with the old load C's at 67mph. The greater tire pressure is my best guess at why the rolling resistance is lower. The tires towed very smoothly and even though it was 88 in Orlando yesterday, my wheels felt cool to touch. So glad I got these tires. Will update in about 18 months 314097

Very pleased with my purchase. This tire is perfect for my boat trailer, since I have a 20 ft. Deep V double haul boat that came with a single axle trailer. I have had two blow outs on my other 6 ply tires. I received them last night, I even received a email from George at etrailer telling me that my tires had been delivered. I had them installed today and plan on taking the boat out for a run. With a single axle trailer, I'm so happy with the D load rating. I will purchase more soon for my RV Trailer. Thanks, George and Tori B 275152

Have yet to put any significant miles on them, but overall am very pleased with my purchase. They are a very sturdy, well made tire with a great tread pattern. Had no issue mounting them on my trailers current rims, even though the last set of tires were 205's. Looking forward to many happy and incident free miles with these. 322846

So far these tires are holding up flawlessly. It’s been one yr since I’ve replaced all four tires on my boat trailer. There a D rated tire for a heavier load and higher speeds. 574157

The two Taskmaster ST215/75 R 14 tires for my '07 Casita arrived on schedule and were promptly installed. I was pleased not only by their apparent condition, but by the fact that (per the #s on the tires) they were "fresh"....having been manufactured in July of this year. The installer noted that very little weight was needed to balance either of them....a good sign. Now to put them to on-the-road use! 228588

In the past year, Ive put about 6,000 miles on them. No problems....and they have held their balance well. I keep them covered from the sun when the RV isnt in actual use. Well pleased!

Quick shipping.. Ordered on Tues, delivered on Fri. After reading reviews, I was convinced these tires were what I needed.. After examining the mfr date code, I was surprised to see they were made in 2016... A call to etrailer followed, and I was given the option of a reship or not, I chose not. I was assured the warranty was the same, no matter when they were manufactured.. Hopefully I made the right choice... Time will tell.. 612118

Its not unheard of for tires to arrive at our location that were manufactured a year or more before we receive them. The tires are manufactured overseas. After they are manufactured, they sit in a warehouse for a period of time until theyre packed in a shipping container and sit awaiting shipment. They are ultimately loaded on a container ship and shipped to the US. The trip here and entry through US Customs can easily take more than a month. The tires then can sit in a warehouse in the US until we order and receive them. Tires that are stored in a warehouse under controlled conditions dont age or dry rot like tires that are exposed to the elements and UV radiation do. The fact that your tires were a bit older when you received them will not have any effect on their lifespan or durability. They should be good for up to 6-7 years, assuming they are not stored in direct sunlight, not overloaded, kept properly inflated and their speed rating isnt being exceeded.

Although I specifically requested no tires older than 2017, all tires to be the same age and the freshest tires in stock when I placed my order with Kirstin, I received instead tires that were 1.5 years old (tire code 3716 or 37th week of 2016 - August). Under normal circumstances I would send them back and get a credit. However, I planned (and prepaid) for a camp site this weekend and must have load range D tires installed tomorrow morning because it will be interstate travel with a large camper. etrailer let me down. I called and spoke to Greg at customer service who said the tires I received were the most recent they have in their warehouse. For the volume of sales etrailer does, you would think their tire turnover would be better than 1.5 years. This appears to be consistent with BBB comments as well (order one thing and get another). And Greg - Its not about tire warranties, its about maximizing the trailer tire life from date of production, given that trailer tires have a very short lifespan. I had been saving to purchase these. 477694

After experiencing our first tire blow out I was forced to research trailer tires. We pull a 2004 bumper-pull ultra-light, dual axle, 4,000 lb dry weight camper. This is our third season with this and has worked well behind our 2014 Ecodiesel 1500 Ram. The camper tires (205/75/14) looked good to me, but after some tire education were found to be, obviously, the originals since the DOT date was fall 2003. After a lot of reading of tire reviews I decided to somehow find a tire that could handle more weight, and better highway speed than the usual Load Range C's 1760 lbs and 65 mph. Finally finding these larger (215/75/14) Load Range D and the 2200 lb rating and higher speed rating was so relieving to me and my wife! They will give us a much needed comfort zone while traveling down the interstate! These tires appear to be much more a 'real' tire than the original, smaller Carlisle tires (although they did somehow last 13 years of services to us and the previous owners). Nice tires and surprisingly quick delivery to our front door, especially fast for tires that were temporarily out of stock. I will happily deal again with etrailer! 275868

I'm a first time rv user, and at 70 years young, want to eliminate problems before they arise. I just purchased a 2011 bumper pull 22 foot house trailer equipped with 14" load range C tires. Anyone with load range C tires should do the math regarding their gross weight. I did, and discovered that my weight was 110% of my tires capacity. No local tire shop could supply a D rated tire in 14". They all suggested purchasing 15" rims, to get into a D tire. I found etrailer on the internet, and they solved my problem. They stock both 205 and 215 tires in 14". I went up from 205 to 215 because my rims will accept the bigger tire, and my trailer offered ample clearance. I discussed my choice with them, they were very reassuring, and I placed my order on a Monday. My tires arrived on Friday, they are now mounted and on the ground, and they look great. I should add that I bought 6 tires, 4 on the ground, one on the spare wheel, and I carry the sixth one unmounted in my truck. The price was so reasonable I could afford the sixth, and if I ever tear one up, I don't have to worry about any local tire shop not being able to supply a duplicate. With the load range D tire, I am now running at 80% of each tires capacity, well within the specifications. I have no reservations whatsoever suggesting to anyone that etrailer can solve any tire concerns they may have. You won't find a nicer group of well informed folks. 419580

I purchased these to replace my Good Year Marathon 215/75R14s on my Ranger 618T single axle boat trailer. After reading a series of poor reviews on the Marathons, I gave these a try and I'm very glad that I did. The higher speed rating and load rating on the Providers give me piece of mind when making long trips. I honestly think that my trailer pulls more smoothly and straighter now with the new Providers. One area that often gets overlooked is the amount of weight that it takes to balance a tire properly. The tech that balanced my tires only needed one very small weight on each tire. I believe that this is another sign of a very high quality tire. You won't be disappointed. 343704

I bought four of these Provider ST215/75R14 radial tires for my boat trailer. With an 8 ply rating and a Load Range Rating of D, I feel very confident on the road. The tread design on these tires is also much more impressive than the typical trailer tire tread found on the Carlisle tires that I replaced. Upon delivery, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the tires were boxed individually, protecting them from any abuse on their journey across the country, from the east side of Missouri all the way to California AND they were delivered on time as promised. I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase from etrailer.com. 299751

I have a 19' Boat and that is borderline in weight for the OEM provided single axle trailer. I have been very concerned pulling the boat very far or at highway speeds due to the C rated tires looking like they are going flat even when at maximum pressure. This is the only 14" D rated tire I could locate so I ordered (2) in April of this year. Web site, technical support & order process was very good. Delivery was as promised and well packaged. The tires looked well made and of heavy construction. Inflated properly the tires now look "normal". I have trailered the boat multiple times this year and have been very satisfied. I would purchase these tires again. 556481

The provider by Task Master “D “ rated tires are the best on the market and reasonably priced at etrailer.com. They ride great and have long wear due to the exceptional automotive tread design. These are the only thing I will use on my car trailer and my enclosed 5x10 trailer after having very poor service from the factory installed “c” rated other brands. Bought these tires to replace tires after having one blown tire, and two with cords showing. Put the tires on a single axle Ranger trailer after it had been aligned. Love them have about 1500 to 2000 miles on the tires with no problems or uneven wear what so ever. Pulling the trailer at interstate speeds tires do not heat up with very little bounce from the tires. No problems with the tires, great tires for the money. Was wondering when I bought them because I hadn’t heard of them but will buy them again! Great Tires! Mitchell Watters 524663

Waited a year before I would give a review on these tires. They are better than I expected. On the highway very quiet and smooth running. Easier to move trailer around in garage by hand and are showing very little wear at this point. Normally only a 1.5 hr trip to lake but did take a trip to Alabama with them and no trouble at all running 70 mph + on interstates . Highly recommend. I tried at least 4 other sets of tires before these. 523438

etrailer service was great like always! However! We replaced load range C with load range D and went up one size to a 215 width. These new tires give me 2000 pounds more weight carying capacity with a higher speed rating! We will see how well they hold up! No one has bashed these tires yet! That’s a good sign. Only time and miles will tell the story! They look well made and weigh a lot more than the tires they replaced. I am optimistic on these!! 507999

Please keep in mind that going with a higher rated tire wont necessarily increase the load bearing capacity of your trailer. If the capacity of the spindles, hubs, suspension etc are less than that of the tires, youd be limited to the capacity of the lowest rated component. I just wanted to be sure you were aware of this, we want our customers to stay safe!

These tires appear to be more rugged than the Goodyear Marathon tires that I had on the trailer previously. Standard Free Shipping took 8 days (I'm in the Seattle area) which was longer than I expected based on some of the other reviews. I have not towed my boat trailer with these tires yet will try to remember to update this review once I've put some miles on them. 499737

Ask the Experts about this Taskmaster Tires and Wheels

Do you have a question about this Tires and Wheel?

  • Will Going to a Higher Load Range Trailer Tire Prevent Blow Outs on a Boat Trailer
  • An ST215/75-14 load range C trailer tire should be inflated to 50 psi. But even at 45 psi you still should be good. The tires have a capacity of 1,870 pounds at 50 psi; slightly less at 45 psi, so it doesn't seem like a capacity issue. Going to a load range D in the same size will give you a stronger tire (more plies/higher ply rating) and they will hold up better than the load range C. But make sure you inflate the load range D tires to 65 psi. You will also want to replace both tires...

  • Trailer Tire Size ST215/75R14 in Load Range D with Galvanized Wheel

  • Goodyear Trailer Tire Recommendation to Replace Tire Size 215/75R15 on Trailer that Failed
  • The tire size you mentioned is not a standard trailer tire size so it is most likely a passenger vehicle tire which should not be used on a trailer. If it was a trailer size the numbers should have started with ST. Typically vehicle tires start with the letter P. The closest tire size is going to be the ST225/75R15 like the # 724857519 which has a ply rating of 10, Load Range of E, and most importantly a weight capacity of 2,830 lbs at 80 psi, plus a speed rating of 87 mph. The Dexstar # AM20363 and the Americana # AM20364 are both mini mod steel wheels that are similar to what's included in the wheel and tire combo. They're both rated up to 2,040 pounds so they'll be closer. Then for the same Provider tire use # TTWTRTM2157514D.

  • What Is The Speed Rating in Mile Per Hour for L on Trailer Tires?
  • It sounds like you are looking at a tire similar to the Westlake ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire # 274-000012. The speed rating you mention of "L" is a max of 75 mph. If tires have this higher speed rating, they are labeled L or M (81 mph). If they don't have the L or M speed rating, ST tires are limited to 65 mph max. If you want that higher speed rating, I recommend the Contender ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range C # C20514C or the slightly larger and higher load range...

  • Recommended Tires For 2400 lb Trailer Based On Weight Capacity, Wheel Size, and Speed Rating
  • You should always use the maximum listed psi for trailer tires. If you use load range D, you will want to operate at 65 psi at all times. If you use a lower load rating like C you will normally be at 50 psi max. This rating is listed on your tire. The size you listed isn't a standard size tire. I recommend the Provider ST215/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range D, # TTWTRTM2157514D, for your application. This will give you a max psi of 65 and a load rating of 2200 lbs per tire....

  • Can Trailer Tires and Wheels of Different Weight Capacities Be Combined
  • Yes, it is possible and even fairly common for a trailer tire of one weight load rating to be compatible with (or even be pre-mounted on) a trailer wheel of a slightly different weight load rating. For instance, Taskmaster part # A21514RTM45SM is a pre-mounted wheel/tire in which the tire has a rating of 2200-lbs while the mating wheel is rated for only 1870-lbs. Galvanized wheel part # AM20354 is a 14 x 6-inch size. This wheel size can accept more than one tire size, both 205/75-14...

  • How to Use a 14 Inch Aluminum Wheel with 215/75-14 Load Range D Trailer Tire
  • If you would like to use a 14" diameter aluminum trailer wheel with a 215/75-14 load range D tire then you would have to order the tire/wheel separate of one another as we do not currently off them in a combo. For the trailer wheel I recommend the Aluminum Hi-Spec Series S5 Trailer Wheel part # TTWALS514545 but I have attached a list of all the options for you and it really just boils down to preference. Then for a tire, I recommend the Provider Radial Trailer Tire part # TTWTRTM2157514D...

This wheel has everything you asked about with the exception of the PVD finish. This wheel has a 3-step finishing process instead that includes zinc phosphate bath, e-coat primer, and silver powder-coat on the outboard side. The inboard side is lightly e-coated to reduce friction and provide rust...

  • Comparing Kenda Karrier, Taskmaster and Provider Special Trailer Tires in Size ST21575R14
  • The three radial special trailer (ST) tires we offer in size 215/75-14 can be seen on the linked page. These include the Taskmaster # TTWTRTM2157514D in Load range D, the Provider # TTWTR21514 in Load Range C and the Kenda Karrier # AM10229 also in Load Range C. All of these radial special trailer tires will provide more flex for better ground contact than a bias ply tire. The main difference between these tires, apart from their load range ratings, is their speed rating. Trailer...

  • Recommended Replacement ST215/75R14 Boat Trailer Tires
  • I recommend going with the Taskmaster Provider ST215/75R14 tire. It comes in both a Load Range D ( 2,200 lbs at 65 psi), part # TTWTRTM2157514D, and a Load Range C (1,870 lbs at 50 psi), part # TTWTR21514, depending on what you already have. One of the most popular features of most Taskmaster tires is the 81 mph speed rating. Since a lot of trailer tires are rated for only 65 mph, these tires will allow you to make better time on the road. Both tires also come with a 2-year limited warranty. I...

  • Recommended Trailer Wheels Size 215/75-14 with Highest Speed Rating
  • There are two tires at that size that are rated for up to 81 mph. They are the Provider ST215/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range D # TTWTRTM2157514D and the load range C Provider # TTWTR21514. If you want the tire with the wheel balanced and ready to install you can use # TTWA21514RTM45WS or # A21514RTM45SM. For your jack stand with 1-3/4 inch outer diameter, the foot # DL22541 or wheel # DL22414 are the correct fit.

  • What is the Size Difference Between a 205/75-14 and a 215/75-14 Trailer Tire
  • That would all depended on the aspect ratio of the 215 tire. For example, a ST205/75-14 tire has an overall diameter of 26.1" and width of 8.1". A ST215/75-14 tire has an overall diameter of 26.7" and width of 8.5". Therefore, as long as you have an additional .3" of room between the tire/fender and .4" between the tire/frame then a ST215/75-14 tire will work for you. Please keep in mind that you will also need about 3" or so of clearance between the top of the tire and bottom of the fender...

  • Tire Recommendation for ST215/75R14 in Load Range D
  • The Provider Tire part # TTWTRTM2157514D that you are interested in are a great option for the tire size of ST215/75R14 that you mentioned. These are Load Range D with the capacities of 2,200 lbs at 65 psi and have a higher speed rating of 81 mph. 65 psi should be no problem at all for your current rims as most are rated for much higher than that. You might only check to make sure your valve stems are rated that high as that is typically the weak point.

  • Spare Tire and Wheel Size ST215/75R14 with 5 on 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern for 2014 Tracker Boat Trailer
  • We have several options for tire and wheel combos in size ST215/75R14 and a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern. The R in the size indicates radial so that narrows it down some. And since this is for a boat trailer I would assume you would want galvanized for the wheel. So for a 215/75R14 tire with galvanized wheel and 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern we have # AM32182 which is a load range C rated for 1,870 pounds at 50 psi. If you want a load range D tire then you will need to get the tire and wheel...

I ask because I was not able to find a reference to a "T78-14" but there are equivalent replacement sizes if it was actually an "F" or "J". • Taskmaster Tire Recommendation to Replace a 215/75R14
  • Taskmaster tires are great trailer tires in general. Our customers really like them from the reviews they have left, but what I really like is the higher speed rating they have. Most trailer tires are only designed for a max speed of 65 mph whereas the Taskmaster tires are rated at 81 mph which is more reasonable for highway travel. • What Size Trailer Wheels Will Accept ST215/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire TTWTRTM2157514D
  • When measuring the width of a trailer wheel you need to measure the spacing between the points where the tire beads rest. This is smaller than the overall outside-to-outside measurement. You can refer to the linked diagram which shows where to measure a wheel for its actual width. If the 14-inch wheel's actual bead seat measures either 6-inches wide or 5-1/2-inches wide then it will accept a ST215/75R14 special trailer tire like Taskmaster ST215/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire # TTWTRTM2157514D....

  • Country of Origin for Taskmaster Tires
  • The Taskmaster Provider # TTWTRTM2157514D is made in China, as is the case with essentially all trailer tires on the market today. Rest assured these tires do meet D.O.T. standards and exceed Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. I can confirm for you that these ST215/75R14 tires are from Taskmaster. They likely do not have a full offering of their products available online because they are not direct retailers, they allow vendors like ourselves to sell their products.

  • Upgrading Trailer Tires to a Higher Load Rating Radial Type for Extra Safety Margin
  • A tire of size 215/75-14 can be mounted to a 14-inch wheel with width of 5-1/2, 6, 6-1/2 or 7-inches. A narrower 205/75-14 tire can mount to many of these same wheel widths: 5-1/2, 6 or 6-1/2-inches. Moving to a higher load-range rating will give you extra safety margin and it will also allow that heavier tire to run a little bit cooler under the same load than a lower-rated tire would. The Taskmaster radial tire/wheel you referenced, part # TTWA21514RTM45WS, is a great radial tire...

  • Value of Dynamically Balancing Trailer Tires and Wheels and Is This Necessary
  • A full dynamic balance that is always required for a passenger car's tire is not essential for a trailer tire. It would clearly not be a bad thing either. The combination wheel/tire products we sell come pre-mounted from the supplier with the tire's high spot matched to the rim's low spot; this is not the same as a true dynamic balance but it is fine for a trailer tire. If you purchase a pre-mounted wheel/tire it may be possible to find a shop that has the equipment to enable a full dynamic...

  • Tire Recommendation for Long Distance Travel on a Boat Trailer
  • For a good long distance travel tire, I would recommend getting Radial Tires. I suggest you go to the 215 width because it will give you a higher load rating of D and a slightly wider tire for better ground contact. The 215 width will fit on the same wheel as the 205 and the size difference between the two is not so big a jump as to cause any concern regarding clearance. The tires I'd recommend for your boat trailer are the Provider ST215/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire, # TTWTRTM2157514D....

  • Do Trailer Axles Carry a Speed Rating
  • Trailer axles are not speed-rated but they are rated for weight capacity. Hubs and wheels also are rated for weight capacity, but not speed. Trailer tires, on the other hand, have a rating for weight handling and for speed. When a trailer tire on our site does not show a specific speed rating, that means it has a 65-mph rating. If its rating is more than this, we list that specific speed rating, such as the 81-mph M rating for radial tire # TTWTRTM2157514D.

The difference is less than half an inch in overall diameter less than half an inch in additional width. You would want to consider the additional clearance required for the tire to fit, but you should be fine. • Can Load Range D Taskmaster Tire # TTWTRTM2157514D Replace C-Rated Tires on Triple Axle Trailer
  • There certainly are benefits to increasing the load range of your tires, extra safety margin and reduced heat - since heat is the number one enemy of trailer tires. Changing your triple-axle boat trailer's tires from Load Range C to Load Range D should allow them to run cooler than the lower-rated LR-C tires you have now. This does not mean that the trailer's capacity has increased, since that is a function of the capacities of the tires, wheels, hubs, axles, frame, etc. Special Trailer...
