Features to know about
Climbing Steep Snowy Roads: Square Links Bite Hard for Maximum Traction
When the snow piles up or ice coats the road, these heavy-duty ladder-pattern chains dig in and pull you through. The square links cut deeper than round ones, giving solid traction for starting, climbing, and braking on slippery grades. They’re built to handle deep snow and icy surfaces where other chains start to slip.
Spending Less Time Getting Set Up: Built-In Cam Tighteners Make Tensioning Simple
Nobody wants to wrestle chains in freezing weather. With these, you just use the built-in cams to dial in a snug, secure fit. A quick twist tightens everything evenly around the tire, so you’re ready to roll without extra tools or endless readjusting. If you want even more hold, you can add rubber or chain adjusters (sold separately).
Chains That Hold Up Season After Season: Manganese Nickel Alloy Construction Resists Wear and Rust
These chains aren’t just for one winter. The manganese nickel alloy steel stands up to heavy use and resists corrosion far better than basic carbon steel. The strong 0.281" (7 mm) links handle rugged conditions without stretching or snapping, so you can count on them to last through years of snow runs and icy hauls.
Ready for Wide Base Tires and Heavy Use: Built for Big Loads and Tough Terrain
Made for wide base tires from 15" to 24", these chains have a beefy design that matches the weight and torque of larger setups. Whether you’re heading up to a remote cabin or pulling a trailer through a chain-up zone, they give confident traction that keeps you moving when the road disappears under snow.
Reliable Traction Without Overdoing Speed: Solid Grip up to 30 mph
Once chained up, you can travel safely at speeds up to 30 mph. That’s fast enough for plowing, towing, or getting down a mountain pass without losing the solid grip the ladder pattern provides. Each pair even comes with a reusable canvas bag so you can keep them clean and ready for the next storm.
If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer.
We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.
You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. These chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.
3229SCAM Titan Chain Alloy Wide-Base Tire Chains with Cam Tighteners - Square Links - Light Trucks - One Pair
First time to ever put on chains. Took me less than 10 min to figure it out and install. Easy on easy off and easy storage. Price was great. Shipping was extremely fast and 2 follow up emails from customer service to make sure I was happy. etrailer is a great company 1036531
You almost certainly not need or use tires chains in most places...but not having this insurance would be a mistake. Perfect fit and easy install. These are extremely good quality, beyond heavy duty l, and will likely outlive the trucks I put them on! 3429354

Chains are great. Turn 3/4 ton truck into a mountain goat/tractor. Will take you anywhere. Heavier than buddys chains and the square links that make them bite better than round links ride rougher when you hit clear pavement. I would say these are best for offroad, dirt road, covered roads scenario and not great for people who are gonna spend most time riding over a plowed road, where the “slinky stretched over rubber cable” design excels. 893067

From questions to finalizing the order the etrailer team was professional, helpful, and focused on service more than the sale! Received the snow chains and toghteners and thanks to the how-to videos online was able to test them at home in 15 min. Thanks etrailer and will post once I use the chains in the snow. 591266

These are heavy duty chains that should last for many years. I just completed a "dry install" in the driveway to make sure they fit and of course they did. Love the way the cams tighten the chains. Looks like another great product offered by Etrailer.com!! 570199

I often have to chain up to get into my cabin, which is in mountains at about 9,000-ft elevation. The Titan chains slip on so easy, and they tighten up so quickly with the cams. Really a great product. Comforting to know that they are in my toolbox ready to be installed if needed. 584809

Hey Jeff, welcome back! The Titan Chain Alloy Snow Chains item # TC3229SCAM are going to stick out close to an inch the way they lie on your Ram's tires. There's not going to be enough clearance to install a set of air bags like the item # AL88289.
With the rear coil spring suspension on your truck, I do not have an air bag or helper spring option that will give you enough clearance. The only solution I have is to upgrade your coil springs with the SuperCoils Custom Suspension Coils item... view full answer...
Hey Mitch! Class S tire chains are designed for use on vehicles with restricted wheel well clearance. I have attached a photo that shows the areas where clearance for Class S tire chains is needed. For the A dimension a minimum of 1.46" between the top of the tire tread and the wheel well is needed. For the B dimension, at least 0.59" between the tire's sidewall and the vehicle itself is required.

Hey Ted,
Good question, and for the 285/60-R20 tires on your 2024 Ram 3500, go with the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Chains w/ Cams # TC3229SCAM.
Since you're mainly going to be on standard roads, you aren't going to need the V-bar studs of the Titan Chains # TC3829CAM, which are mostly for deeper off-road and ice. Additionally, they're made from steel, and won't hold up to the elements quite as well as the # TC3229SCAM, which are made of manganese nickel alloy, which is designed to resist... view full answer...
Hi Steve; the tire chains from the picture you provided are the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Chains w/ Cams for Wide Base Tires - Ladder Pattern - Square Link - 1 Pair # TC3229SCAM. This is one of the sets of tire chains we sell that fit 285/75R16 tires like yours. view full answer...
Hey C Fisher, the # TC3229SCAM version just has cam tensioners on it which does not make it on road use only. That fit note that it is for on-road use only is not accurate and of the two this would be what I would recommend since they are a bit easier to install and get properly tensioned over the # TC3229S. How many times a year do you normally use tire chains? view full answer...
The # TC3229SCAM physically fit 285/75R17 tires, but I took a glance at the owners manual of your Jeep Wrangler and it states that traction devices shouldn't be used on tires your size (actually tires even smaller than yours), so I would avoid these chains. Since you have to have them by law I highly recommend Class S chains which require limited clearance (a minimum of 1.46" between the top of the tire tread and wheel well, and at least 0.59" between the tire's sidewall and the vehicle... view full answer...
For a solid tire chain to fit the 275/65-20 tires on your Ford F-350 Super Duty I recommend the Titan Chain Tire Chains # TC2536 because they are easier to install than a lot of the tire chains on the market and they come with square links in a diamond pattern for consistent and effective traction.
If you're wanting best of the best then the Konig Tire Chains # KON64FR can't be beat. The chains themselves are a little more robust than the Titan Chains but they have the same type of installation... view full answer...

I did some research on your 2016 Ram 2500.
Per the owner's manual tire chains can only be used on the rear tires. For your 285/60R20 tires, the heavy-duty chains we offer are the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Chains w/ Cams for Wide Base Tires, part # TC3229SCAM. These are a ladder-pattern manganese nickel alloy chain with square links that are excellent in snow and on ice. These include cam tighteners so adjusting is easy. Good news, I can help you pick out the right on/off road tire chains for your 2015 Ford F-250 Super Duty.
If most of your time is spent off road, I would recommend the TItan Square Link # TC3229SCAM These chains will be the best to help get you out of a jam, and perform great in snowy and muddy conditions.
If your time is split between on road and off road, the Titan Twist Link # TC3229CAM might be the preferred option to go with because the ride on road will be a little smoother than... view full answer...
According to the owner's manual for your 2017 Ram 2500, traction devices such as tire chains are only permitted to be used on the rear two wheels, with LT245/70R17, LT265/70R18, LT275/70R18 tires, and must be Class U compatible.
Tire chains often fit multiple different size tires. As a 285/65-20 tire is only 10mm wider and 7mm taller than a 275/65-20 tire, most tire chains designed for a 275/65-20 tire will also fit a 285/65-20 tire or vice versa. However, you will want to check with... view full answer...
I spoke with Titan and the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Chains w/ Cams for Wide Base Tires part # TC3229SCAM are rated for use off-road. That said, the cams are a weak point so they should only really be used for light off-roading. The Titan Chain Alloy Snow Chains w/ Cams # TC3229SCAM referenced in your question, which are confirmed to fit the 305/70-17 size tires on your Ram, are indeed square link chains. The difference between the two part numbers you mentioned of # TC3229SCAM and # TC3229CAM is the link style. The part # TC3229SCAM uses square links which are bigger and better for deeper snow and the # TC3229CAM has round links which will give you a smoother ride. view full answer...
The Titan tire chains part # TC3229CAM that you referenced are a confirmed fit for your tire size of 285/60R20.
This chain is a twist link chain which will do a decent job but for mud and deep snow a square link instead would dig a little harder into the terrain to give you better traction. For that you'd want the part # TC3229SCAM. view full answer...
Selecting tire chains for your 2000 Toyota 4runner 4x4, will depend on the conditions you will be using them in. I did some research and your owner's manual does not recommend using tire chains on your 2021 Jeep Gladiator, with tires of your size. Furthermore, If you did have the correct sized tires, it is recommended that you only use Class S compatible tire chains. These are tire chains designed for vehicles with tight tolerances in their wheel wells. Now the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Chains w/ Cams for Wide Base Tires - Ladder Pattern - Square Link - 1 Pair, part # TC3229SCAM, will fit your tires.... view full answer...
I do have a perfect option for you however the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Chains # TC3229SCAM referenced in your question are a bit too small to fit on your 35x12.5x17 size tires.
For the same style chain that is confirmed to your tires I recommend the Titan Alloy Snow Chains # TC3231SCAM. These heavy-duty ladder-pattern chains feature square links that form cross chains to provide excellent traction in the snow and ice. The built-in cam tighteners will also allow for a simple and tight fit.... view full answer...

They will fit perfectly on the 37 x 12.5 x 17 though.
The chains are heavy-duty and will give you extra traction in snow and ice. The small link size contributes to a smooth ride. The chains have a manganese nickel... view full answer...
