Fitment stays simple and solid with this wheel’s common 8 on 6-1/2" bolt circle and 0 offset. It fits stud sizes 1/2"-20 or 9/16"-18 with a pilot diameter of 4.9". The modular design makes it easy to match or replace other steel wheels in the same size—16" diameter by 6" wide—without guesswork.
The right lug angle matters, and this wheel is designed for a 60-degree cone seat so the lugs stay tight and true. When everything is torqued correctly, it delivers confident performance on the road without loosening up over time.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Today we're going to review part number AM20789. This is the Dexstar Steel Mini Mod 16 inch by 6 inch Trailer Wheel with a 8 on 6 and a half inch bolt pattern, and a white finish. This wheel has very nice, sturdy, steel construction. Uses a white, powder coat finish over the whole wheel, over an e-coat primer. This gives you very excellent corrosion resistance. This is a mini mod design and by that I mean it has the round holes that go around the edge of the wheel as opposed to some of your trailer wheels which would have the triangular holes.
That would be called a spoke design. This one is actually, with the round holes, called a mini mod design. This high quality wheel will meet the Department of Transportation specifications. A few dimensions on this. This is a 16 inch diameter by 6 inch wide wheel. Just to show where those measurements are taken on a wheel, it won't be the overall edge to edge.
It's actually measured where the tire seats on the wheel, so bead seat to bead seat. In other words, your tire would seat right in here on the wheel. If we measure bead seat to bead seat across, you can see you get your 16 inch diameter. The same way on the width of the wheel. On the width of the wheel we won't be measuring edge to edge; you'll measure where the tire bead seats, bead seat to bead seat. Again, if we put a ruler on that you can see 6 inches diameter wide.
This is a 16 inch diameter by a 6 inch wide wheel. The bolt pattern on this wheel is a 8 on 6 and a half. You can see the eight lug bolt pattern. On a wheel that has a even number of lug holes, like in this case 8, the way you'll measure the bolt pattern is pretty simple. Just pick one of the holes and go from the center of that hole directly across to the hole right across from it, center to center. That should get you your bolt pattern.
In this case, we put a ruler on it: 6 and a half inches. Eight hole, 6 and a half inch bolt pattern. This wheel will fit on a wheel stud size of a half inch by 20 and a 9/16 by 18. The larger hole right here in the center is the pilot hole diameter. We'll measure that to give you an idea. This is what will go over the hub on your trailer. The diameter on the pilot hole is going to be right at 4.9 inches, just under 5 inches. The weight capacity on this wheel, this is a heavy duty rated wheel. It does have a weight capacity of 3,960 pounds at a 110 psi. One thing I do want to mention to you, that if you are going to use this wheel for that capacity of 110 psi, what you want to do is you'd want to use a metal valve stem. This does not come with a valve stem so you don't want to put just a rubber stem in there. A rubber stem will not go over 100 psi, so what you'll want to do - and we do put it on this product for this wheel as a related part - is you want to use this part number AM20906. It's a metal valve stem, and you would insert that in there, and the metal valve stem will allow you to go over 100 psi. That is required if you're going to use that high a rating. That should do it for the review on part number AM20789, the Dexstar Steel Mini Mod 16 by 6 inch Trailer Wheel, 8 on 6 and a half inch bolt pattern. .

Wheels run true and seem to be plenty heavy for my purposes. I've had the trailer at about 14k overall, and no issues.
I can rate the service at this time. I appreciated being able to get the Dexstar American made quality product at a very reasonable price. The wheels are great , put them on my goose neck deck over and made it look great and the air does not leak down all the time like the old ones did .

Rims look good! No rust has appeared after one year of service. Powdercoat is truly the best way to go with steel wheels.
These are good quality, heavy duty wheels. I bought a set of Chinese wheels first, but they were so out of round and out of true that I sent them back. These wheels are heavier, straighter, and have a better paint coating. The only flaw is they have some lateral runout, but it's acceptable for trailer use.
Product looks great, haven't mounted them yet, but are replacements for others and look identical.
Packaging could be better, 2 wheels in one box, attempts were made to keep them separated, but hey failed, fortunately the wheels are tough.

One year in and they work and look great, very happy.
Part is well built and gives me the adjustability I needed for multiple applications for my hitches. The wheel had the correct offset I needed to fit my trailer correctly, and the breakaway kit was a great replacement for the one that was broken on the used trailer I just purchased. The universal trailer brake installation kit was just what I was looking for. Great quality and the ability to run either type of trailer wiring harness in one hookup. Great parts and great service!!!
