The common 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern and 2.62" pilot diameter make matching hubs straightforward. Wheel bolt size is 1/2"-20 for standard hardware compatibility, and the 0.453" valve stem hole diameter is ready for typical trailer stems. Backspacing ranges from about 3.32" to 3.44", so it sits right where it should without clearance surprises.
If you want a classic look, this wheel accepts the Americana Baby Moon Trailer Wheel Center Cap # AM90086 (sold separately). It’s an easy way to give your trailer a clean, vintage finish while keeping all the benefits of modern powder-coated steel construction.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the Dexstar 14-inch by 5-1/2-inch black conventional steel trailer wheel with an offset and a five on 4-1/2-inch bolt pattern. Now this wheel's a sturdy steel construction, does offer excellent corrosion resistance because they're using a two-step finishing process, which will first include an E-coat primer and then a black powder coat finish over that. Now, we did mention this wheel is a conventional design, and that's basically an automotive style wheel. You can see it has a solid center design and it's designed to accept a full cover clipped on hub cap or a snap on baby moon hub cap that'll cover the center section of the wheel. Now, we mentioned this wheel has a positive offset of a 1/2=inch, and then what offset, what offset is, is basically this mounting surface of the wheel.
If it lines up directly with the center, that's zero, that's the starting point. If this mounting surface will move towards the front of the wheel, that's a positive offset. If that mounting surface moves to the back of the wheel, that's a negative offset. This one we mentioned has a positive offset of 1/2-inch. So this mounting surface right here is moved a 1/2-inch towards the outer face of the wheel, and in turn, that'll move your tire wheel towards the trailer.
Now this is a high-quality wheel. It does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation, specifications. It is made by Dexstar, which means it is made in the USA. A few dimensions on this. We're gonna measure the diameter and the width, and when you measure the diameter, you're actually gonna be measuring inside to inside.
And the reason is, when your tire's mounted on this wheel, the bead seat of the tire's gonna sit right in here. So the diameter is always measured inside to inside. So if we get our tape measure, and if we go straight across, you'll be able to see there's your 14-inch diameter. And if we measure the width, same way, it's bead seat to bead seat, inside to inside. 5-1/2-inches for the width.
Now the bolt pattern on this wheel is a five on 4-1/2-inch bolt pattern. And if you want to measure that on a wheel like this, that's an odd number of lugs. What you need to do is pick any hole, let's say this one, and then you're gonna measure across to either one of these holes. But when you measure, it's from the center of the starting hole to the furthest edge that you measure to. So on this one, it'll measure 4-1/2-inches. So that means it's a five lug, 4-1/2-inch bolt pattern. The pilot hole right here in the middle is 2.62-inch diameter. The wheel lug size of this is a 1/2-inch by 20, and the weight capacity on this wheel is 2,200 pounds. But that's gonna do it for a look at this Dexstar 14-inch by 5-1/2-inch black conventional steel trailer wheel with an offset and a five on 4-1/2-inch bolt pattern.

This is more of a review of E-trailer and the process. I am impressed, and looking at ordering some other items for another trailer that needs work. this note is to Robert S I only purchased wheels by themselves. I purchased tires in chatt. tn. from cooper tire .I got baby moons off ebay.have received lots of compliments on set up
Exactly what I was looking for and received in two days after ordering. Problem with one and etrailer reshipped right away . Once received had tires mounted on the wheels and on the trailer the same dayand looking good. Put the baby moon cap on and working at finding trim rings to go on as well for the oldies look that I want . Pleased

These rims look good, have a high weight rating and allow use of baby moons. The rims looked good upon delivery with the exception that the edge was slightly bent on one rim - could be shipping or processing. These rims were bought to replace the same type of rim delivered on a 2019 Gulf Stream Vintage Cruiser. The original rims worked fine for three years then one rim cracked at a bend a would not longer hold air.
