Video Transcript for Review of Redline Hydraulic Line Kit - 9579-01

Hello neighbors, Steven here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this hydraulic line kit for your third axle. It's gonna work with drum and disc brakes. Now folks, this trailer hydraulic line kit is gonna be again for that third axle. You can use it with a tandem axle deluxe drum kit that we sell here separately. Item number 9579-2.

It also works with deluxe drum trailer brakes between 3,500 to 800, or 3,500 to 8,000 pounds axles for those trailer disc brakes as well. You're gonna get the two rubber brake lines here. They got the riding attachment with the threaded nut here and the connection points here to thread in and the clip to clip 'em in place. A couple little cable ties, all the brass fittings to you know, do your jumps and your side connections and everything. The clips here, they clip in here onto the trailer hangers and stuff, or the copper hanger area, and then you've got everything else here.

You got two sets of brake lines here. They kind of inter-weaved them here, so I just left 'em together. Don't wanna damage 'em, but you get two brake lines there as well with the threaded ends. Ready for installation. Folks, that's gonna wrap it up.

Just a quick look today. Thanks for joining me, I'm Steven. Have a great day.

The whole staff at etrailer bent over backwards to make sure I was satisfied with the installation of brakes on my trailer. Have made several purchases from them always satisfied with parts and service. Special credit to Jamie great to deal with. Answered all my questions and was very knowledgeable.

Perfect kit for adding to the hydraulic brake actuator so you can make hydraulic brakes work on a triple-axle trailer. Plenty of adapters and hardware to add the extra axle or replace components on your trailer.

  • Converting Triax 5th Wheel Trailer with 7k Dexter Axles to Disc Brakes
We have the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit part # K2HR712D which is the correct hub/rotor set for the 7k axles on your trailer. You'd need 3 of these for your trailer and then an electric over hydraulic actuator like the # HBA16 you mentioned. I would actually recommend the # HBA16-252-82 though as it comes with the breakaway kit plus enough lines for two of your axles. For the third axle you'd then want the part # 9579-01.

  • Recommended Disc Brakes and Brake Lines For Second Axle on 2013 Venture Boat Trailer
The Kodiak Disc Brake Kit - 10" Hub/Rotor - 5 on 4-1/2 - Dacromet - 3,500 lbs # K2HR35DKG will work fine on the second axle of your 2013 Venture boat trailer as long as the bearings and seal inner diameters match your spindles. This kit has the most standard sizes compatible with the vast majority of 3500 lb axles. The inner bearings are L68149 with inner diameter 1.378 inches. The outer bearings are L44649 with inner diameter 1.063 inches. The grease seal 10-19 has an inner diameter...

  • Disc Brake Conversion For 2016 Grand Design GD Momentum With Lippert 7000 lb Triple Axle
For your Lippert 7,000 lb axles on your 2016 Grand Design GD Momentum triple axle trailer, I recommend the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit - 13" Hub/Rotor - 8 on 6-1/2 - E-Coat - 7,000 lbs # K2HR79E. These fit the industry standard number 42 spindles. For this you will need the inner bearing # 25580 and outer bearing # 02475 along with oil seal # 10-63. I recommend you check the bearing diameters to make sure they match your spindles. For your disc brakes you will need a different actuator capable...

  • Parts to Convert Electric Brakes to Electric Over Hydraulic Brakes
Converting from electric brakes to electric over hydraulic brakes will give you the most effective braking setup available. You are going to need a number of different parts, and the HydraStar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator Kit # HBA-10-252-82 will give you an electric-hydraulic brake actuator, a brake line kit, and breakaway kit. Because you have a triple axle trailer, you are going to need an additional hydraulic line kit # 9579-01. If you are interested in a new brake controller, the...

  • Brake Line Kit to Add Second Axle of Brakes to Trailer
For a brake line kit to add a brake axle to an existing setup you'd just need the part # 9579-01. This is listed as a 3rd axle kit but in reality it's the same thing as adding a second axle.

  • Parts Needed to Add Hydraulic Drum Brakes to Tandem Trailer
We have a FAQ article that covers everything you will need to add hydraulic drum brakes to your trailer. I have linked it for you. There are essentially 5 to 6 components you will need. First, the spindles need to have brake mounting flanges on them. To add flanges, they have to be welded on by a qualified professional that has performed this job before. It takes a special jig to weld the flanges on correctly. I have linked our flanges for you. Welding on flanges will negate the need for...

  • Parts Needed for Disc Brake Conversion on Take 3 Auto Transport Trailer with Three 7,000-Lb Axles
I looked up the Take 3 auto transport trailer and it showed it has electric brakes. To convert your electric brakes to disc brakes you will need to use the disc brake conversion kits for 7,000-lb axles with the hub and rotor, hydraulic line kits for three axles, electric over hydraulic actuator, trailer breakaway kit, and a brake controller that is compatible with electric over hydraulic brakes. The disc brake conversion kits will come in pairs, so you will need three sets. These kits...

  • Disc Brake Conversion Kit for 1991 Shore Lander Trailer
Yes. In order to add hydraulic disc brakes you will need to use the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit # K2R35S and the HydraStar Electric-Hydraulic Actuator w/ Line Kit for Disc Brakes # CAR-HBA16-2, which will give you a completely new disc brake setup for your 1991 Shorelander. The Kodiak Disc Brake Kit # K2R35S uses a 10" rotor with a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern and has a capacity of 3500-lbs, which will work well for your Shorelander. The Hydrastar kit comes with an actuator and all of the brake lines...

  • Parts Needed to Convert 2008 Inferno Toyhauler to Disc Brakes
The Kodiak Disc Brake Kit # K2HR79E fits your Lippert 6k axles and has the 8 lug bolt pattern like you need so it would be exactly what you'd want. You'd need a set for each axle. For bearings you'll need part # 25580 and # 02475 for each assembly plus the seal # RG06-070 for each assembly. For a triple-axle disc brake trailer you will want a 1600-psi electric-over-hydraulic actuator to ensure sufficient operating pressure. We offer a nice kit from CTS, the HydraStar Marine Electric Over...

  • Parts to Replace Hydraulic Brake System on a 2004 Magic Tilt Trailer
We can definitely get you started with parts for your Magic Tilt Trailer, but we will need some additional information to complete your parts list. We can start with a coupler. Since your boat trailer will not exceed 10,260 lbs, I recommend looking at a coupler like the Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator for Disc Brakes, # T4750620. This coupler has a 3 inch drop like the coupler you referenced, but it has a 12,500 lb weight capacity which is closer to the weight of your trailer. Using...

  • Parts Needed to Convert Tandem Trailer to EOH Disc Brake Operation
First you'll want to check your factory controller to make sure it can operate with electric-over-hydraulic (EOH) brakes; not all controllers can. If you need a new one I recommend the Tekonsha P3 # 90195. For an actuator, brake line and breakaway kit all together use part # CAR-HBA16-2. You'll need a second line kit # 9579-01. I included a link to our page for 8K-rated disc brakes. All use a 8-on-6-1/2 bolt pattern and fit wheels 16-inches and up. You have options in the choice of finish...

  • Recommended Disc Brake Assemblies for Nev-R-Lube Bearing 7,000 or 8,000 lb Axle Capacity
For your upgrade to disc brakes, we have the Dexter Disc Brake Kit - 12-1/4" Hub/Rotor - 8 on 6-1/2 - E-Coat - 8K - Nev-R-Lube # K71-646-2-91. This will give you the assemblies to fit your 7K axles which are the same bearing size as the 8K axles, but you will also need to upgrade your brake actuator as disc brakes require a psi rating of at least 1,500 lbs compared to the 1,000 lbs of drum brakes. These assemblies will work with zero offset wheels that are 16 inches or larger. You...

  • Changing Out Drum Brakes on Triple Axle Trailer to Disc Brakes
You will need three of the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit for 8k Dexter axles # K2HR858A. This an oil based lube system so you will need the bearing kit and seals # DBRKHW850 designed for it. We recommend oil base systems for triple axles because of the temperatures from the weight of the trailer on the axles. To get the brakes up and running, use # CAR-HBA16-2 and # 9579-01.

  • Recommended Disc Brake Conversion Kit for 2020 Grand Design Momentum with Triple Axle
I have a solution for you, but unfortunately the # K2HR79 cannot accept 1/2" wheel studs. In order to convert from electric brakes to disc brakes with an oil bath, that will also allow you to use your current 8 on 6-1/2 bolt pattern with 1/2" studs you'll want to use the Dexter Disc Brake Kit # K71-694-695-11. These rotors have an E-coat finish for better protection against the elements and the hub comes with the bearings, races, seals and oil caps included, so you won't have to track down...

  • Best Parts Needed to Convert 2006 Keystone Raptor Triple Axle to Disc Brakes
Hey Loren, the best disc brake actuator kit for a triple axle trailer is the Hydrastar kit part # HBA16-252-82 which comes with the best and most reliable actuator from our experience. This will also require an additional brake line kit since it's a tripe axle which we have with the part # 9579-01. Aside from that all of the electrical and hydraulic parts are covered. Then for the hub/rotors the Kodiak kit part # KOD69FR would be your best option. This would be correct for your axle capacity...

  • Boat Trailer with Disc Brakes on Front Axle Slamming Back and Forth when Stopping
It sounds like your boat trailer simply does not have quite enough stopping power when you are applying the brakes from your tow vehicle. This will certainly result in the back and forth slamming/jerking you are experiencing. I do recommend adding disc brakes to the rear axle of your trailer. Doing this should greatly reduce these symptoms. In order to choose the right disc brake assembly for your trailer, you will need to know the axle capacity, wheel bolt pattern and the part numbers...
