Determining Bolt Pattern
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Today, we're going to take a look at the Dexstar 13-inch by 4 1/2-inch white steel mini mod trailer wheel with the 5 on 4 1/2-inch bolt pattern. Now, this wheel's a sturdy steel construction, has excellent corrosion resistance because it uses a white powder coat finish over an inaudible 00:00:15 primer over the whole wheel. This is a mini mod design, also called a modular design, and what they mean by that is it's the one that has the round holes all the way around the wheel. This is a high quality wheel. It does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation, specifications. It's made by Deck Stars and it is made in the USA.
A few dimensions on this, we're going to measure them. It's 13-inches diameter by 4 1/2-inches wide. When you measure the diameter, it's going to be measured inside to inside. inaudible 00:00:42 where the tire bead seats, so bead seat to bead seat. If we put a ruler straight across, there's your 13-inches for the diameter.
The width is the same way, tire bead seat to bead seat. Inside, inside is going to be 4 1/2-inches. Now, the bolt pattern on this wheel is a 5 on 4 1/2-inch bolt pattern. If you want to measure that on a wheel that's an odd number of lugs, in this case 5, all you have to do is pick any one of the holes. Let's say this one. Then measure directly across to either one of these holes.
When you measure it, it's from the center of the starting hole to the furthest edge of the hole that you measured to. If we do center from here, furthest edge, it's 4 1/2-inches. 5 lugs, 4 1/2-inch bolt pattern. This wheel does use the wheel lug size of a 1/2-inch by 20. Pilot hole diameter, that's the large hole here on the center of the wheel, goes over the hub on your trailer.
It's 3.19-inches. The weight capacity on this wheel is 1,725-pounds. That should do it for the review on the Dexstar 13-inch by 4 1/2-inch white steel mini mod trailer wheel with the 5 on 4 1/2-inch bolt pattern.

I bought these wheels for my 16’ camper trailer and they look great. They were well packed with plenty of paper for cushioning and they arrived without any chips or damage. I have yet to install them but I’m sure they’ll be fine. They did not come with stems but I’m sure my tire place will install them. Good value, so far.

- Replacement 13 Wheel Recommendation for Negative Offset Wheel with 5 Bolt PatternThe best option we have for your application is a 0 offset wheel like the Dexstar Steel Mini Mod Trailer Wheel # AM20253. Aside from that the only 13" offset wheels we have use a positive offset which is the wrong direction for you. To determine whether you need the 1/4" spacers or not you need to measure where your tire sidewalls currently sit in relation to your fender or trailer frame. We recommend having about 2" of space to the tire sidewall to avoid wear so if you have about 2-1/4"...
