Finding the right wheel doesn’t have to be guesswork. This model uses a 4 on 4" bolt pattern with 1/2"-20 wheel bolts and a 2.65" pilot diameter for straightforward mounting. The consistent sizing gives you confidence that your setup will bolt together cleanly and run true.

1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Dexstar 13-inch by 4-1/2-inch black modular steel trailer wheel with the four on 4-inch bolt pattern. Now this wheel's a sturdy steel construction and we mentioned it's the modular design. When we say modular design, that's the one that has the round holes all the way around the wheel. This wheel gives you excellent corrosion resistance 'cause it uses a two-step finishing process, which includes an E-coat primer first, and then they put a black powder coat finish over it. It is a high-quality wheel.
It does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation, specifications. If you notice the center cap is not included. This part is made by Dexstar, which is made in the USA. Give you a few measurements on this. We're gonna measure the diameter and the width of the wheel.
And when you measure the diameter, what you're measuring is inside to inside. And the reason you're doing that is basically when the tire is installed on this wheel, the beads of the tire will go right here. So you're basically measuring bead seat to bead seat. So inside to inside. So if we put a ruler on that, you'll be able to see there's your 13-inch diameter.
The width will be the same way, bead seat to bead seat. So inside to inside, 4-1/2-inches wide. And the bolt pattern on this wheel you can see is a four lug. It's a four on 4-inch bolt pattern. And if you wanted to measure that, it's pretty simple 'cause the lug holes are directly across from each other.
So just pick one of the holes. Let's say this one, measure from the center of this hole directly across to the center of the hole, right across from it. On this, it'll measure 4-inches. So it's a four lug, 4-inch bolt pattern. Pilot hole diameter right here is 2.65-inches. It does use a wheel lug size of 1/2-inch by 20, and the weight capacity on this wheel is 1,660 pounds. But that should do it for a look at the Dexstar 13-inch by 4-1/2-inch black modular steel trailer wheel with the four on 4-inch bolt pattern.

About a year ago I ordered three Dexstar mini mod wheels,two new hub and bearing kits,U bolts,spring shackles, greaseable shackle bolts and spring eye bushings. I havent put many miles on the trailer with these new parts but so far they have performed as expected, the trailer pulls much easier and smoother. And working with etrailer was very easy.

The 4 step upgrade culminated in this. Started with 5.30 x 8, went to 4.80 x 12...flipped the axle and lastly the went to 175/80 R13 with the 13 wheels purchased.
These wheels look great and really dressed up my vintage pop up. Swapped out the original 5.70 X 8 tires and flipped the axle, this can go anywhere now.
These 13" steel wheels were the perfect solution to upgrade my original , white, 12" trailer wheels from 1979. The 4 on 4 bolt pattern in 13" is just what I was looking for and only etrailer could provide it.
The wheels look great, perfect fit. And the delivery was bery fast. This ishow e-commerce should be.
Had them for about a year, so far so good. No problems getting the tires to mount, hold air, and they don't have any rust yet.
