Can Different Brands of Tires be Used on a Boat Trailer

Updated 06/05/2023 | Published 06/02/2023

Question:

I have relatively new Carlisle radials ST215 75 r14 on a boat trailer. I need 2 new tires and 4 new galvanized rims. Should I mix tire brands or am I ok if I stay with all radials? Any recommendations for 14” rim widths Thanks as long as all radials?

Ideally, you would want to use identical tires on the same axle (which it sounds like you still can). As long as the tires are the same size, all radials and are all of the same load range, using different makes of tire on your boat trailer will not cause a problem.

We currently have 1 tire option that matches the same specs as your Carlisle radials ST215/75R14.
- Karrier ST215/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire # AM10229

We only have 2 options for a 14" galvanized wheel.
- Steel Spoke Trailer Wheel # AM20354
- Steel Mini Mod Trailer Wheel # AM20364

Both options are 14" diameter x 6" wide with a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern.
