Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Today we're going to take a look at the Americana 8" x 3-3/4" Galvanized Steel Trailer Wheel with the four on four-inch bolt pattern. Now this wheel is a nice sturdy steel construction. It does have the galvanized finish to provide superior protection from rust and corrosion, and the galvanized finish wheels are usually used in marine application where you're going to be around freshwater or saltwater. This is a high-quality wheel. It does meet the DOT Department of Transportation specifications.A few specs on this. We're going to measure the diameter which is eight inches.
And when we measure that, it's not going to be edge to edge, it's going to be inside to inside. So if we take our tape measure, go inside to inside, there is your eight-inch diameter. The width on it is the same way. It'll be inside to inside or bead seat to bead seat. There's your 3-3/4 inches wide. The bolt pattern on this wheel is going to be a four on four- inch bolt pattern.
If you want to measure that on a wheel that's an even number of lugs, in this case four, all you have to do is pick one of the holes, measure from the center of that hole directly across to the center of the hole right across from it. That'll be four inches, so four-lug four-inch bolt pattern. This wheel does use the wheel lug size of 1/2" by 20. And the pilot hole diameter, which is the large hole here in the center of the wheel that goes over the hub on your trailer. The diameter of that opening is 2.5 inches.
And the weight capacity on this wheel is 910 pounds. But that should do it for the review on the Americana 8" x 3-3/4" Galvanized Steel Trailer Wheel with the four on four-inch bolt pattern.
Just like in the pic fits and works good
