When you’re hauling serious weight day in and day out, this tire-and-wheel combo is built for it. The Westlake 215/75R17.5 radial tire carries up to 4,805 lbs at 123 psi (single) or 4,540 lbs (dual), backed by an 18-ply rating and Load Range J durability. Double steel belts, double polyester plies, and nylon tread-firming overlays keep the tread stable and resist separation even under heavy pressure. It’s a setup designed for hard work on long hauls.
Running at highway speed shouldn’t mean worrying about heat or stability. With its 75-mph speed rating and radial construction that minimizes rolling resistance and heat buildup, this tire holds steady mile after mile. The design keeps its shape under load for a smooth, predictable feel when you’re covering ground in hot conditions or loaded to capacity.
Corrosion is no match for a wheel treated on both sides with an e-coat primer and black powder coat. The heavy-duty steel wheel resists rust from water, road grime, or salt exposure, keeping your setup looking clean and performing strong over time. It’s built as tough on the outside as it is inside.
Whether you’re running inner or outer duals, the wheel’s ±5.59" offset keeps spacing right where it should be. The hub-piloted design centers precisely on the hub for secure mounting, using flange nuts (sold separately) for a solid connection every time. This flexibility lets one wheel serve both sides of a dual setup without guesswork.
Flat tire on the road? This assembly includes Lionshead’s complimentary roadside assistance program for two years. A technician will come change your flat anywhere in the United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico—24 hours a day, seven days a week—so you can get back on the road with minimal downtime.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this Westlake 215 75R 17.5 Load Range J Radial Tire with a 17 and a half inch black dual steel wheel with an eight on six and a half inch bolt pattern. Now this tire and wheel assembly is going to be ideal for your dually trucks, buses, and trailers. And the wheel offset is going to allow this assembly to be used as either the inner or outer wheel of a dual wheel setup. More on that in just the next minute or so.
And this radial tire is constructed with double steel belts and double polyester plies for a long life. The nylon tread firming belt overlays are gonna help prevent tread separation and the tread wear indicator is going to make it easy to see tread depth. Now, as I mentioned and as we have stamped here on our tire, this is a 215 75R 17.5 tire. It has a load range J, meaning it has an 18 ply rating and the maximum load on a single tire is 4,805 pounds at 123 PSI. And a dual tire is 4,540 pounds at 123 PSI.
This has a speed rating of L indicating the maximum speed of 75 miles per hour. And this heavy duty steel wheel features two hand holes. So let me show you that. So you got one hand hole and one hand hole there. There you go.
You can see it there on the inside. So those are included on the wheel. And the wheel itself has a capacity of 6,200 pounds. And this wheel does have a high offset, so this is going to allow for this wheel to be used as either an inner wheel in this orientation or an outer wheel in this position on a dual wheel setup. And the offset is either a positive or negative 5.59 inches.
Now this steel wheel is sturdy and corrosion resistant. It features a rust resistant finish that includes an E-coat primer and a black powder coat on both sides of the wheel as you saw. And this is a hub piloted wheel, which means it will center on the hub of the axle, not on the lugs. And the pilot hole diameter is 4.76 inches. And this does require the use of flange nuts for installation. We do sell these separately on our website. This does use a wheel lug size of 5/8 of an inch by 18 flange nut. A metal valve is also included and installed. Let me see if I can show that to you. Hopefully you can see that right there. And then let me give you the dimensions of this wheel. So looking at the diameter first, measuring inside to inside where the tire actually meets the wheel, that diameter is 17 and a half inches. And then the width, again measuring inside to inside on that wheel where the tire sits into it, is going to be six and three quarters inches wide. And this does have a bolt pattern of eight on six and a half inches. And in case you don't know, the first number of the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. And then the second number is the diameter in inches of the circle on which these bolt holes sit. So to determine the bolt circle diameter on wheels with an even number of bolt holes as we have here, you're simply going to measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. This wheel does meet SAE-J124 standards. And one final note, this tire and wheel assembly does come with complimentary roadside assistance for two years. So if your vehicle has a flat tire, simply call their helpline and the technician will come and change the flat for you. You can call that number 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and 365 days a year from anywhere here in the United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico. Well, that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that our time together was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
