When you’re towing long distances or hauling serious weight, this tire-and-wheel combo is designed to stay cool and strong. The Westlake ST235/85R16 radial tire carries up to 4,400 lbs at 110 psi with a Load Range G rating and speed rating L (75 mph). Its double steel belts, double polyester plies, and nylon tread-firming overlays add strength and cut down on heat buildup for dependable highway performance mile after mile.

This 16" x 7" aluminum wheel isn’t just lightweight—it’s built to last. Steel inserts are pressed into the lug nut wells to help prevent wear around the holes, keeping the wheel tight on the hub without constant retorquing. The glossy black Eagle Series 8-spoke design looks sharp and resists corrosion thanks to an automotive-grade clear coat on the face that shields it from scuffs and scratches.

The Westlake radial design puts the cords at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel, which helps reduce rolling resistance and heat. That means a longer tread life and smoother tracking at higher speeds. The sturdy sidewalls are made specifically for trailer use, providing the strength needed to handle heavy loads without flexing or sway.
Unexpected flats happen, but this assembly comes with built-in backup. You get complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years—available 24/7 across the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. Plus, the tire includes a 1-Year No Excuses Guarantee that covers replacement if it’s damaged within the first year, along with compensation for mounting labor.
Fitment confidence matters when you’re setting up your rig for reliable towing. This wheel uses an 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern, fits 1/2"-20 or 9/16"-18 wheel bolts, and has a 4.9" pilot diameter. Both tire and wheel meet DOT, FMVSS, and SAE J1204 standards so you know every component is built to perform safely under load.

1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the Westlake ST235/85R16 radial trailer tire, in a load range G, and it's mounted on this 16-inch, glossy black Eagle aluminum wheel, with an 8 on 6 1/2-inch bolt pattern. Now this tire and wheel assembly is ideal for RVs, campers, and trailers. The wheel that the tire's mounted on is an aluminum wheel. It's very durable, lightweight, and rust proof. And we mentioned it is the Eagle Series, which you can see is a split 8-spoke design with a glossy black finish.
And if you look on the edge of the spokes, it has a nice machined face on the edge of the spokes to give a nice shine to the wheel. They do use an automotive-grade clear coat finish on the front to help protect the wheel from scuffs and scratches. One of the nice features I like on this wheel is right here in the lug-nut wells, they use steel inserts, and that's designed to help keep the wheel securely in place on your trailer hub. Those steel inserts prevent the holes from elongating and wearing down, so it eliminates the need for constant retightening of your lug nuts. A few specs on the wheel, its diameter, 16 inches.
The width on just the wheel is seven inches wide. This wheel does have a bolt pattern of 8 on 6 1/2 inches. And if you wanna measure that on a wheel, that's an even number of lugs, in this case, eight. It's pretty easy because the lug holes, if you look, they'll go directly across from each other. So all you have to do is pick either hole, let's say this one, measure from the center of the hole directly across to the center of the hole right across from it.
So this wheel, it'll measure 6 1/2 inches. So it's an eight lug, 6 1/2-inch bolt pattern. This does use a wheel lug size of either a 1/2 inch by 20 or 9/16 by 18. The weight capacity on just the wheel is 4,080 pounds. Now if you notice, this wheel does not come with a center cap.
If you do want a center cap, we do sell those separately on our website. You do wanna make sure to get a center cap that'll have the same diameter as this pilot hole right here, 'cause when you install your cap, it will go through this hole. This pilot hole diameter is 4.9 inches. Now the tire that's mounted on this wheel is a Westlake radial tire, so it is constructed with double steel belts, double nylon ply. They do use a nylon tread firming belt overlay around the tire to help prevent tread separation. And it is a radial ply tire, so it is great for highway use. This is also an ST tire, which stands for special trailer tire, so it has this sturdy sidewall so they can handle heavy loads, and it is created specifically for trailers, not intended for use on other vehicles. And the tire size, which is stamped on the sidewall, ST, for special trailer, 235/85R16, the R means that it is a radial tire. Section width, 9.3 inches. Overall diameter from the bottom to the top when it's inflated, it's 31.7. And we mentioned this is a load range G tire, which means it's a 14-ply rated tire. So it does have a maximum load capacity of 4,410 pounds at 110 PSI. This assembly does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation, specifications. And this tire does come with a speed rating, and they do stamp it on the sidewall of the tire, and it's in a letter designation. And where you'll usually find it is, right after the size, you'll see two numbers for the load index, and then there's a letter L that's stamped on there. Speed rating L will mean it's 75 mile per hour speed rating. Now they do offer complimentary roadside assistance for two years, and flat tire service is available 24/7 anywhere in the US, Canada, or Puerto Rico. But that'll do it on the look of this Westlake ST235/85R16 radial trailer tire, in a load range G, mounted on this 16-inch, glossy black Eagle aluminum wheel, with the 8 on 6 1/2-inch bolt pattern.

Best RV tires Ive owned. Put little over 13000 miles on them this year. Went from the west coast to the east coast. Not one flat tire. No abnormal tire wear. They still have good tread. Ready for another road trip. And always air them to 5psi less than stated on side of tire.

Since installing them on my 30 travel trailer, we have traveled from Texas to the west coast and to the east. Put 14000 miles on these tires and they still are good for another long trip. Remember, correct air pressure and straight axles. Would purchase these again for sure. Highly recommend these whells and tires!!!!
