This tire-and-wheel assembly comes with complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years. If your RV or trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change the flat for you. You can call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year from anywhere in the United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico.
This tire has a 1-year No Excuses Guarantee. If within the first 12 months the tire is damaged in any way that's not covered by warranty, it will be replaced at no charge. You will also be compensated a flat labor rate for the cost of mounting the replacement tire.
This aluminum wheel comes with steel inserts in the lug nut wells. The inserts are pressed into the aluminum, and they help prevent the holes from wearing down over time. This ensures that the wheel stays secured to your trailer hub and that you won't have to constantly retorque the lug nuts.
This radial ply tire from Westlake is constructed with double steel belts and double polyester cords for increased durability. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation.
The standard tread on this tire has solid, continuous ribs, and there are very few sipes (or thin grooves) cut into the rubber. This tire is designed for use on trailers, so it doesn't require the level of traction that would be needed on a vehicle that is braking or steering.
Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Hello neighbors and friends, Steven here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at our Westlake ST235/85R16 radial tire with a 16 inch wheel in a Margay aluminum and it's an eight on 6 1/2 inch lug pattern in a load range G. Now folks, this glossy black wheel and tire assembly here is gonna be great for campers and trailers. And again, it is a ST. So that means it's a special trailer tire and it's only made to be used and intended to be used on things that you're towing, such as your trailer, camper, those kind of things. Now this aluminum wheel is durable, but it's lightweight as well.
And as you can see, it's got a nice glossy black. It does use what they call their eight spoke design, and it has a automotive grade clear coat finish on the front of the wheel that's gonna give you an extra layer of protection. Now the back is still powder coated in that nice glossy black, but it doesn't have that extra clear coat finish on there. Now go into the wheel itself. On the lug nut holes, they have steel inserts and that's gonna help keep the wheel securely in place on the trailer hub.
It's also gonna prevent the holes from wearing down over time, and it's also going to eliminate the need for constant retightening of your lug nuts. Now the tire itself, this Westlake radial tire is constructed with double steel belts and double polyester plies for a long life. The nylon tread firming belt overlays and that also helps prevent tread separation. Now it also has built into it TWI or tread wear indicators. That's gonna make it super easy to measure the tread depth and visually see, so it's kind of hard to tell from your angle probably, but there's little nubs inside of there and if it wears down that far, you'd be able to see those nubs clearer.
And if that height matches the tread height, you know it's getting time for a new tire. Now another thing that's nice about this tread and everything here is that it is a computer generated tread and it's gonna be a great design to help repel water, snow, dirt, debris, that kind of stuff while you're on the road. And because it is a ST tire, special trailer tire, the sidewalls here have extra stability and it's gonna be great for holding up that extra weight on your towables. Now the tire does meet FMW, or FMVSS specifications. It also meets SAE J 1204 standards.
The center cap is sold separately if you need one. It's a 4.9 diameter on that pilot diameter hole there in the center. Now the rim is a 16 by six inch wide rim. The bolt pattern, again is eight on 6 1/2 lug pattern. You're getting that 6 1/2 by measuring center to center directly across from each other on any stud because it's an even lug pattern. Now, as far as a wheel bolt size, you're gonna use either half inch by 20 thread count or a 9/16 by 18 thread count. The wheel capacity is a range of 4,080 pounds. The tire size again is an ST235/85R16. The section width is 9.3 inches wide and the outer diameter overall is 31.7 inches. Now this particular tire is a G range or a 14 ply tire. That means the tire itself is rated at 4,410 pounds at 110 PSI. It has a speed rating of L or 75 miles per hour. Now, as far as a warranty, they've got an amazing five year warranty on the tire, a one year warranty on the wheel. And they also give you what's called a complimentary roadside assistance for two years. So from the time of purchase, you get two years complimentary roadside flat tire service 24/7 anywhere in the US, Canada, or Puerto Rico. Now again, that's from the manufacturer themselves. Folks, that's gonna wrap it up for our look at this nice tire and wheel combo. I'm Steven, thanks for watching.
