This setup is built for trailers that see real weight but don’t need overkill hardware. The Maxxis ST235/80R16 radial tire carries 3,420 lbs at 80 psi with a 10-ply Load Range E rating. The steel wheel is rated for 4,080 lbs, so you’ve got the strength to handle serious loads while keeping your trailer balanced and efficient mile after mile.
Highway runs are steady and predictable thanks to the radial build and N speed rating (87 mph). The rib pattern tread keeps tracking straight and reduces irregular wear, while the high-load tread compound controls heat when you’re running heavy or long distances. Reinforced sidewalls and a dual-cord body casing add stability under repeated load cycles so the trailer stays composed even at speed.
No shop stop needed—this tire comes pre-mounted and bead balanced from the factory. Internal balancing beads even out the rotation automatically for a smoother ride and longer tread life without external weights. It’s aired up and ready to bolt on, saving time while giving you a solid, vibration-free tow feel right out of the box.
The black modular steel wheel isn’t just tough—it’s finished with a powder coat that resists rust and hides scratches better than polished metal. The 16" x 7" rim uses the common 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern with a 4.88" pilot diameter and accepts 1/2"-20 or 9/16"-18 bolts. It’s an easy-clean design that looks sharp while standing up to years of use.
If something goes wrong, Maxxis backs you up with a 1-year No Excuses Guarantee for free replacement under normal use, plus 2 years of 24/7 roadside assistance throughout the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico. Each radial ST tire also carries a 5-year limited warranty, and the wheel has a lifetime structural warranty for extra peace of mind.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"
