Instructor Hi, everyone in here with etrailer.com And today we're gonna be checking out this butt hinge from Marlboro. And it's gonna be a hinge made here in the USA. And it's gonna be great for maybe some larger cabinets, doors or panels around your trailer. Now it's gonna be a very sturdy steel construction. It's pretty large hinge, a pretty hefty one too. So I definitely think that's gonna be maybe aimed more at your trailers, maybe some commercial applications than something like a residential hinge.
Is this gonna be with an unplated mill finish. So you're not getting any sort of stainless steel. You're not getting any like protective coating or anything like that. So just keep that in mind, when you are picking this hinge up, that you don't get that same kind of protection you might with another. It does give you 270 degrees of rotation.
So we've got our hinge closed right here. We can open it up flat and bend some to that 270 degrees of rotation. So imagine if you've got it mounted on a wall door right here. When the door opens, the hinge will move like this. So plenty of room to fully open here, and even then some extra room to maybe round a corner or something, if you're not mounting this perfectly flat with a wall.
Now on the either end of the hinge here, you're gonna notice there aren't any sort of pre drilled holes. You can still bolt this on to whatever you are installing it on, but you will need to drill your own holes. The other option you have here is to weld this on. So just think about how you're gonna be using this, and what's gonna work best for you. You have a three, eight inch diameter pin here on the back, where the hinge is and when the hinge is laying flat.
Let's get some measurements for you. Is going to be six inches by six inches when laying flat. So if I can get that to hold still here, We see six inches right there end to end and same thing right here end to end. Now on the back here where the knuckles are, that's these guys right here, each knuckle is going to be an inch wide and then the knuckle ends here at each end are going to be a half inch wide. And that's gonna do it for a look at this Butt hinge. Thanks for watching..

It’s heavy duty and will handle the steel doors that I am welding to.
A few less stars the pin pean over was just ok and the edges need deburing.
