Which Wheels And Tires Are good For 14K Big Tex Gooseneck Equipment Trailer with 8 Lug Hubs
Published 10/15/2025 >
Question:
I have a 14K Big Tex gooseneck equipment trailer with 8-lug wheels. Would the #MXS69FR be a good replacement set?

Expert Reply:
Absolutely, Mike. Your Big Tex runs 7,000-lb axles with 8-on-6-1/2 hubs, so the # MXS69FR fits perfectly. Each tire carries 3,420 lbs at 80 psi, which keeps you under the wheel/tire weight limit even at the trailer's full payload. The black modular steel wheel is tough while being simple to clean and maintain. Some fancier wheels have all kinds of nooks and crannies that are hard to clean.
Do you usually haul near max weight, or does it spend more time half-loaded?
