When you’re running serious weight down the highway, this tire-and-wheel combo is made to stay solid mile after mile. The Kenda Triangle ST235/80R16 radial tire carries up to 4,080 lbs at 110 psi with a 14-ply rating, matched to a 16" x 6" aluminum wheel rated at 4,400 lbs. Both meet DOT specs and are speed rated M for 81 mph, so you can roll confidently on long hauls in heat or rough conditions.
Salt, rain, and humidity don’t stand a chance against this wheel’s corrosion-resistant build. The gunmetal gray aluminum construction is lightweight and rustproof, while the clear-coat finish on both sides keeps it looking sharp and prevents scuffs or scratches. It’s a setup that stays clean and dependable even after seasons of use in tough environments.
This Kenda Triangle radial tire combines the strength of bias construction with the smooth ride and stability of a radial design. Its double steel belts and full nylon plies resist flexing under load, reducing heat buildup and rolling resistance for longer tread life and improved control at higher speeds. The computer-generated tread pattern delivers reliable traction in wet or dry conditions without harsh road feel.
Keeping the wheel tight on the hub is key when you’re carrying heavy loads. Steel inserts in the lug nut wells prevent wear at the bolt holes, so you don’t have to constantly retighten lug nuts. The assembly uses an 8 on 6-1/2 bolt pattern with a 0 offset and 4.90" pilot diameter for a snug, secure mount that stays put trip after trip.
If the tire gets damaged within the first 12 months, it’s replaced at no charge. Add in a 2-year limited warranty on the assembly itself, and you’ve got peace of mind built right in—no matter where the road takes you.

1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a brief look at this Kenda Carrier ST235/80R16 Load Range G Radial Trailer Tire with a 16" aluminum wheel with an 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern. This tire and wheel assembly is gonna be great for your boat trailers, stock trailers, utility trailers and campers. This special trailer tire or ST tire has sturdy sidewalls so that it can handle heavy loads. It is created specifically for trailers and not intended for use on other vehicles. As you know, radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway and this radial tire is constructed with double steel belts and full nylon ply that combine for superior function and long life.
The computer generated tread design and premium rubber compound materials are gonna give you superior traction in wet or dry conditions. Now as I mentioned, this tire, as we see stamped here is an ST235/80R16, and the section width is 9.2" and the outer diameter is 30.7". This is a load range G tire, meaning it has a 14 ply rating. The maximum load is 4,080 pounds at 110 PSI. And this has a speed rating of L, indicating a maximum speed of 75 miles per hour.
The gun metal gray aluminum wheel is durable. It's lightweight and rust proof. It features this open spoke design that's unique and appealing and the clear coat finish on the front and on the back of this wheel is gonna protect it from scuffs and scratches. And something else that I wanted to point out is that inside of the lug wells, there are steel inserts. It's gonna help keep this wheel securely in place on your trailer hub, preventing the holes from wearing down and eliminating the need for the constant re-tightening of the lug nuts.
Now the dimensions of this wheel, looking at the diameter first, measuring from bead seat to bead seat is 16" and the width of this wheel is 6". And as we stated, the bolt pattern is 8 on 6-1/2", and in case you don't know, the first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes and the second number is the diameter in inches of the circle on which the bolt holes sit. So to determine the bolt circle diameter on wheels with an even number of bolt holes as we have here, you're just going to measure from the center of one bolt hole to the bolt hole directly across and that will give you that measurement. The the capacity of this wheel is 4,400 pounds. The wheel stud size is 1/2" by 20, the center cap is sold separately, but if you decide to pick one up, you just need to make sure that it fits the pilot diameter of 4.90".
Now this tire and wheel assembly does meet the Department of Transportation specifications and I think that's gonna wrap up our brief lift today. I do hope that our time together has been helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me.
