When you’re hauling gear or equipment at highway speeds, this setup gives you peace of mind. The Kenda 6.90/6.00-9 bias tire carries up to 1,298 lbs at 60 psi and is rated J for speeds up to 62 mph. It’s matched to a steel wheel rated for 1,120 lbs, and the full assembly meets Department of Transportation specs for reliable performance mile after mile.
This bias-ply tire uses six layers of durable nylon cords placed at a 30- to 45-degree angle. The crisscross pattern stiffens the sidewalls so the entire tire flexes together, helping it stay stable and smooth over uneven ground or rough surfaces. It’s a tough, proven design built for trailers that see real use, not just easy miles.
Moisture, grime, and road salt don’t stand a chance against this finish. The 9" diameter × 4" wide steel wheel is finished with an e-coat primer and white powder coat that seal out rust and corrosion. It keeps its clean look season after season and holds up in all kinds of weather.
This wheel uses the common 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern with a 2-3/4" pilot hole and 1/2"-20 lug size. Those dimensions make it easy to match to most hubs built for that pattern without extra guesswork or modification.
For the first 12 months of ownership, if the tire is damaged in any way, Kenda replaces it at no charge. That’s on top of the 5-year tire warranty and limited 1-year wheel warranty—extra assurance that your investment is protected wherever you tow.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Kenda 690/6x9 bias trailer tire in a load range C on this nine inch white solid center steel wheel with the 5 on 4.5 inch bolt pattern. Now this is a bias trailer tire by Kenda. It's great for off-road and agricultural use. Provides superior stability and a reduced rolling resistance for a nice smooth ride. The wheel it's mounted on is a solid center steel wheel.
Resists rust and corrosion. Has a white powder coat finish over a new coat primer. And this tire wheel assembly does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation, specifications. The diameter on the wheel, it's gonna be nine inches. The width on just the wheel by itself is four inches wide.
Now this wheel does have a bulk pattern of 5 on 4.5 inches. And if you want to measure that on a wheel, that's an odd number of lugs, like in this case, five. What you can do is pick any hole, say this hole, and then you measure across to either one of these holes. But when you measure, it's from the center of the starting hole to the furthest edge of whichever hole you measure to. So on this one it'll measure 4.5 inches, so that means it's a 5 lug, 4.5 inch bolt pattern.
Does use a wheel lug size of a half inch by 20. The pilot hole diameter, which is the large hole here in the center of the wheel, that's 2 and 3/4 inches. Weight capacity on just the wheel by itself is 1,120 pounds. The tire size we mentioned, it's stamped on the sidewall, it's gonna be 6.90/6x9. So it's a nine inch diameter wheel it fits on.
Section width on this, 6.5 inches. Overall diameter, the bottom to the top when it's inflated is 21.1 inches, and the tire is a load range C, which means it's a six ply rated tire. So it does have a maximum load capacity of 1,298 pounds at 60 PSI. And this tire does have a speed rating on it. It has a 62 mile per hour speed rating. But that should do it for the review on the Kenda 690/6x9 bias trailer tire in a load range C on a nine inch white solid center steel wheel.

That’s great to hear, and sounds like you made a solid call going up a size. It’s always nice when the only tradeoff is just shifting your straps a bit and everything else works even better than before. Really appreciate you sharing that too, especially managing multiple trailers. That kind of real world experience helps a lot of folks feel more confident when they’re deciding what direction to go. What kind of trailer is the new wheel on? Any fun plans?

They look great Scott! Thanks for including the picture. What an awesome boat too, what year is that? What body of water do you mainly get out on? I bass fish a lot out here in Missouri at the Lake of the Ozarks and Mark Twain Lake. I dabble in some local tournaments but I contribute more than I win =)

Each week I feel like I see a new way products are used, and this is a first for me! That is super cool, I am glad you were able to get them working for your application to get that barn made. It is good to know just some spacers and it was able to work. What was the intention behind the barn, animals, hay?
