When used with AP202 or AP216, the included tables show exact distances between front, center, and rear hangers for different leaf springs—like 28-3/4" or 30-1/2" between front and center hangers depending on your spring model. That precision keeps axle alignment accurate and prevents tire interference on tandem setups.
These hangers are built to pair perfectly with Redline equalizer kits AP202 or AP216, which include the equalizers, bolts, and shackle straps needed to complete the system. Together, they form a matched suspension setup that provides full movement range and proper axle articulation. The hangers themselves do not include axle-to-spring mounting parts, keeping them focused on providing a strong, accurate frame connection.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the Dexter Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit for two inch wide slipper springs. Now, this kit here will include two 4 1/4 inch tall front hangers, two 3 1/2 inch tall center hangers, and two 5 1/4 inch tall rear hangers, and this is for mounting your leaf springs to the frame of your trailer. Now, the mounting hardware used with this is not included, we do sell that separately. This kit also can be used with either the AP202 equalizer kit with the 10 1/8 inch long equalizers. I pop up an insert, that's that kit right there.
Or you can also use this with the AP216 equalizer kit that has the 13 1/8 inch long equalizers and hardware. Now, we do also sell complete kits, which will be these hangers with those kits I just mentioned. If you do it with the AP202 equalizers, that would be our part number AP202-H202, or if you use these hangers with the AP216 equalizers, that would be part number AP216-H202. And again, those items are all sold separately on our website. Now, this hanger kit is designed for use on trailers with tandem 3,500 pound to 8,000 pound axles.
This will attach four slipper leaf springs to your trailer frame. Now, the leaf springs are not included, again, those would be sold separately, but the parts here that are included, we're gonna show you the measurements on it. I laid them out, pretty much, this is the front, center, and rear. So the 4 1/4 inch tall front hangers right here, and when you measure the height of the hanger, it's not from the bottom to the top, it's from the center of the bolt hole to the top. So on this one, if we go center to the top, it's gonna get you your 4 1/4 inch height measurement.
The bolt hole size is 5/8 of an inch. On the center, if we measure that again from the center of the bolt hole to the top, about 3 1/2 inch height, and that has a 7/8 inch diameter bolt hole. And then the rear hangers, again from the center of the bolt hole to the top, is about 5 1/4 inches, and the bolt hole size on that is 5/16 of an inch. Now, this does not include components for mounting your axle to the springs. And one last note I do wanna mention, if you go to the product page of this product part number, and at the very bottom, there's a table, and it'll help you determine the hanger location when it's used with either set of those equalizers that we mentioned above, based on your type of leaf spring that's being used.

It has been almost a year before we got the hangar kit installed on an old trailer. I don't weld very good so had to wait for my son to get time to come up and put them in. They worked perfectly on the stretched 7k axles we put on in place of the 3.5k axles that were on the trailer originally. Once we got wheels and tires to fit, we loaded a tractor with a loader on the trailer and everything worked like it should. We have been very happy with the service from etrailer, having purchased a couple sets of hanger kits, equalizer bolts, trailer hitch and other trailer items. Well made, good weld beads, but some of the spring perches could have used more weld. I added more in myself and am satisfied with it now.
These hangers work great. I upgraded axles on a trailer, and needed these to complete the upgrade. Etrailer has always been a great vendor, and the first place I go for trailer parts.
