Video Transcript for Redline Trailer Suspension - Leaf Spring Suspension - 28-9-1 Review

Today we're going to take a look at the front hanger for the 2 inch wide slipper springs. 5 inches tall and a 9/16 diameter bolt hole. This front hanger is designed to work with the trailer suspension system that has 2 inch wide slipper springs. This will provide the attachment point for the leaf spring, and the hanger suspends the spring from the trailer frame. This is designed for trailers with 3,500 pound up to 9,000 pound axles, and again it fits a 2 inch wide slipper spring. The hole on here fits the 9/16 diameter bolt, and we do sell that separately on our website. It's usually listed on this product page as a related product. To give you some overall measurements on this, we're going to do the overall height which is from the bottom all the way up to the very top, that's 5 5/8 inches tall.

The depth on this, it's going to be right at 3 inches, and the width is right at 2 3/4. Now the inside width is 2 5/16. When they talk about the size of the hanger, when they say 5 inches tall, actually that measurement is from the center of the bolt hole up to the top. If we go from the center to the top, then you can see there's your 5 inch tall hanger. That should do it for the review on the front hanger for 2 inch wide slipper springs, 5 inches tall with a 9/16 diameter bolt hole.

Worked as it should. New hangers, and a new axle and back on the road.

Website was easy to navigate and price was great. Parts are exactly what I needed to repair an older trailer that gets pulled several times a week

Just what I needed at a fair price and fast shipping.

  • Recommended Replacement/Upgrade Suspension Kit for 2022 Forest River Wolfpack 325
For a best of the best suspension setup I recommend the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Leaf Spring Suspension Kit w/ Shock Absorbers # RM-2460-2570 to replace what you have on your 2022 Forest River Wolfpack 325. This is for a 33" wheelbase setup and not only replaces the leaf springs, but it also comes with shocks to give you the best trailer suspension system on the market. Then to replace a 5" tall hanger we have the Redline # 28-9-1 I recommend checking out. If you end up just wanting to...

  • Adjusting Your Trailer So That the Pin Box Sits More Level on a Jayco Eagle 5th Wheel Trailer
If you can safely adjust the height of your Lippert 1621 pin box then that would be the ideal thing to do. I do have a few more options to help level out your Jayco Eagle with your 2017 Ford F-250 Super Duty. If your Jayco Eagle uses leaf springs, Dexter has 2 different over-under conversion kits which will move the axle from over your leaf springs to under your leaf springs. The Conversion Kit # K71-384-00 fits a 2-3/8 inch axle while the Conversion Kit # K71-385-00 fits 3 inch axles....

  • How to Order Longer Equalizer Kit for Slipper Springs Than # APTT6SE
You'd have to piece together the kit you want as we don't have everything you need as a kit. For a 12 inch equalizer you'd want the part # TREQ4541, for a 5 inch front hanger part # 28-9-1, for a 4-1/2 inch center hanger part # 29-5-1, and then for a 6-3/8 inch rear hanger you'd want part # 30-6-1 and you'd be set.

  • Internal Dimensions of Slipper Spring Hanger 28-9-1 and Availability of Bushing with 3/4" Diameter
Front Hanger # 28-9-1 is slightly wider than 2 inches on the inside to accept a 2 inch wide slipper spring. The height on the inside, from the bottom of the welded in tube piece to the bottom of the hanger is approximately 3 inches. We have some bronze bushings with a 3/4 inch inner diameter, # 14-67, but no nylon options.

  • Raising a Small Single Axle Camper's Suspension Without an Over-Under Kit
Aside from the Over-Under kits, there are 2 other options for you. The most cost-effective would be to replace your current hangers with taller hangers, like part # 28-9-1 for 2 inch leaf springs. By using taller hangers, it will make your leaf springs sit lower which, in turn, will raise your trailer. I have linked our product page for hangers, you will just need to pick the appropriate width of your leaf springs and the desired height. The other option would be to replace your current...
