Recommended Tandem Axle Spring Hangers
Published 04/06/2023 >
Question:
I am changing my trailer tandem axels from 3500# to 6000#. Axel centers are 34 inches. If I go from 15 inch tires to 16 inch I only have about 1 1/2 inch between tires. Is that enough space?

You're going to want at least 4" of space between your two tires on a tandem axle trailer. It sounds like you will need to move your spring hangers when you upgrade your axles to get the new ones farther away from each other. You can use the Tandem-Axle Trailer Hangers for 2" Slipper Springs item # H202 to replace the ones currently on your trailer.
I have linked a chart below that will show you the spacing recommended when installing the new hangers.
