Features to know about

Smoother Ride Over Rough Roads: 3-Leaf Design Absorbs Road Shock

Bumpy or uneven pavement can make a trailer bounce and rattle. This 3-leaf double-eye spring flexes to absorb shock and smooth out the ride. With a spring capacity of 1,750 lbs and an axle capacity of 3,500 lbs, it keeps your load steady and helps reduce wear on the frame and cargo.

Built to Last in Wet Conditions: Powder-Coated Steel for Marine Use

Saltwater and moisture are tough on suspension parts, but this spring holds up thanks to its sturdy steel construction and protective powder coat. The finish resists corrosion, making it ideal for marine applications or trailers that see a lot of wet travel.

Simple Fit and Reliable Mounting: 25-1/4"" Long with 9/16"" Eye Bushings

Getting the right fit matters for suspension performance. This spring measures 25-1/4"" from eye to eye and 1-3/4"" wide, with nylon bushings that have a 9/16"" inner diameter installed. It mounts to your existing hangers and shackle straps to create a solid, flexible connection that keeps your trailer level on the road.

Durable Construction for Steady Support: 1/4"" Thick Leaves Handle the Load

Each of the three leaves is 1/4"" thick, giving the spring the strength to carry its rated load without sagging. That durability means consistent performance mile after mile, even when the trailer is fully packed and the road gets rough.

Video Transcript for Review of EMCO Trailer Leaf Springs - 3 Leaf Double Eye Spring 3500 lbs Trailer Axle - EM46RB

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a quick look at this Three Leaf Double Eye Spring for your 3,500 pound trailer axles. Now this double eye leaf spring is going to act as part of your trailer suspension system by providing an attachment point for a 3,500 pound trailer axle. This is made from sturdy steel and it is designed to flex, so it can absorb road shock and give you a smooth ride, reducing wear and tear on your trailer. And it's going to ensure a level ride on bumpy and uneven surfaces.

Now, double eye leaves springs attached to hangers that are welded onto your trailer. One end of this spring will attach directly to the hangar with the suspension bolt, and the other end will attach to shackle straps that are suspended from a hangar. These straps are going to allow the spring to move and pivot so that it can better compensate for uneven pavement. So if you have a tandem or triple axle trailer, the shackle straps will be attached to the equalizer that connects multiple springs. So if you are in need of hangars, suspension bolts, or equalizers, you can find all that here at etrailer.com.

In the eyes on each end are pre-installed nylon bushings. The eye diameter with the bushing is nine 16ths of an inch, and without the bushing it's 11 16ths of an inch. And again, this is a three leaf spring with a leaf thickness of a quarter of an inch. This spring individually is rated at 1,750 pounds capacity. So that means if you install a pair, one on each side of your axle, you're gonna be covered for 3,500 pounds of trailer weight support.

So to ensure proper axle alignment and suspension performance, leaf springs should always be replacing pairs. And we do recommend insulation by a professional. Now, measuring springs, you are going to measure from center of eye to center of eye. As I hope you can see there, we're sitting right at 25 and a quarter inches. Obviously, when the spring is not loaded and when it's brand new, the width of the spring is one and three quarters inches.

So you're gonna need this spring if you're replacing worn out springs on a light to medium duty trailer. Maybe your current suspension on your trailer is sagging, it's noisy or uneven, or maybe you're restoring or building a small utility trailer, boat trailer or something similar. This is gonna be just what you need for that 3,500 pound axle. If you have any other questions about this spring or anything else that we carry, don't hesitate to reach out to us. We do wanna make sure that you're getting exactly what you want and need. Well, again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.

I had called other suppliers, not answering phone or had no clue / answers to my questions

Haven’t had a chance to install them yet, I do believe they will work good. Replacing flattened old #3500 leafs with these for a single axel travel trailer.

by:

The paint/coating on the springs looks awful, hopefully the metallurgy is better. Also, the leafs are shorter than the OEM Dexter spring that it replaces.

by:

The leaf spring showed up onto the campground a day earlier than expected! Great job getting us our part so we could enjoy our vacation!

by:

Huge difference from 4 leaf to 5 leaf on my tandem 5200lb axles

Broken leaf spring): Ordered the leaf spring late Friday afternoon California time zone. (We travel full time). Most impressed, order was processed Friday night by E-Trailer, with two day delivery. Of coarse it was the weekend, part was picked up Monday morning in Missouri and I had it in my hands by 11:30am Tuesday. I could track the order easily with the link E-trailer provided. We were near Redcrest California, which is not a big town at all, about 50 miles south of Eureka CA.(no parts of this kind in the area). And the best part of all--the part fit perfectly! E-trailers website is very user friendly for getting the right part, the first time!!

by:

The brass bushings should not have to be pounded in and then the bolt through the bushings because the bushings oblong them selves because the springs are not straight.

  • What Direction Should The Band on a Leaf Springs Be Faceing
Hey, Lance. The direction the springs are in doesn't matter. They can be to the front or to the rear of the axle and will perform the same either way. What kind of trailer are you working on?

  • Best 3 Leaf Spring Upgrade for a 2019 Nitro Z18 TrailStar Trailer
Hi Jason, I totally get wanting to beef up the suspension, especially after breaking one of the factory single leaf springs. I'd be happy to help you find a stronger replacement. The 3 Leaf Double Eye Spring, Part # EM46RB, is very likely the right direction since it fits 3,500 pound trailer axles and measures 25 1/4 inches long. If you measured your old spring at 25 1/2 inches, that's actually pretty common because worn springs tend to flatten out and stretch slightly over time. Before...

  • Will 3-Leaf Double-Eye Spring Powder Coat Crack When Spring Flexes
Hey Mark! The powder coat on the EMCO 3-Leaf Double-Eye Spring # EM46RB is designed to flex with the spring, so it won't crack under normal use. It may eventually wear where the leaves rub together, but it will provide better corrosion protection than a standard painted spring. If you really want to, you can apply a flexible corrosion inhibitor over the powder coat for additional protection. What kind of trailer do you have?
