When your trailer’s suspension needs to stay balanced under load, the 17-3/8" long straight equalizers in this kit do the job. They’re designed for use on tandem 9,000-lb Dexter axles and connect four 2" slipper springs to the frame. With a 1" diameter center hole and 5/8" side holes, the geometry is right for smooth articulation between axles, keeping the trailer steady on rough stretches and level on rolling ground.
Everything needed to hang and link the springs comes in the box. The kit includes two 4-1/2" tall center hangers with 1" bolt holes, matching 1" equalizer bolts, and all the hardware—spring keeper bolts, spring-eye bolts, and locknuts—for a solid suspension connection. It’s meant to be paired with the HAP-105-00 single-axle hanger kit for a full tandem setup, taking the guesswork out of sourcing parts that fit together.
Keeping the spacing right between axles is key to proper suspension travel. This system sets them 42-1/4" apart, giving the springs room to flex without binding. The equalizer pivots on a 1" bolt through the center hanger, letting both axles share bumps evenly so the trailer rides smoother and tracks true behind the tow vehicle.
Each component is sized for 2" wide slipper springs, so the bolts and hangers line up cleanly without modifying parts. The hardware dimensions—like the 5" equalizer bolts and 5/8" spring-eye bolts—ensure tight, consistent clamping that resists wear mile after mile. Once torqued down, the setup keeps the suspension geometry locked in and performing the way Dexter designed it.

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today I'm gonna take a look at the Dexter Tandem Axle Trailer Equalizer Kit for two inch Slipper Springs. Now this kit here will include the two 17 and three eights inch long equalizers and the necessary bolts and hangers for suspending your lease springs from your trailer frame. Now this is designed to be used with the part number HAP-105-00 for a complete Tandem Axle kit, and we do sell that part number separately. I'm going to pop up an insert.
That part number actually contains the front and rear hangers and mounting hardware to make this a complete kit. And again, we sell that part separately, and it's usually listed on this product page as a related product. Now this is designed for use with Tandem 9000 pound Dexter axles. Basically, this will attach four leaf springs to your trailer frame. And the leaf springs are not included, you would've to supply those.
This kit here will include these two 17 and three eights inch long straight equalizers. And just to show you, if we measure the total length, measures your 17 and three eights inches. When these are installed it'll basically allow for 42 and a quarter inches between your axles. These do have a one inch diameter center hole for mounting to the hangar, and then a five eights inch diameter side hole for attaching to the spring. Also comes with these two four and a half inch tall center hangers that have the one inch diameter bolt holes.
And when we say four and a half inches tall, that measurement is from the center of this bolt hole to the top of the hangar. It does come with these two three and a quarter inch long five 16ths spanner spring keeper bolts with lock nuts. Comes with these two four and a half inch long five eights inch diameter spring eye bolts with lock nuts also. And then comes with these large two five inch long one inch diameter equalizer bolts with the lock nuts also. Now, this kit does not include the components from mounting the axle to the springs.
But that should do it for the review on this Dexter Tandem Axle Trailer Equalizer Kit for two inch Slipper Springs.

That is great to hear! I am glad you are liking it and the installation wasn't too bad. What kind of trailer did you replace this on?

Year later and still very happy. Brought a well used, 30 year old trailer back to life.
