Video Transcript for All About the Dexter Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit for 2" Slipper Springs

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, I'm gonna take a look at this Dexter Tandem Axle Trailer Hanger kit for two inch wide slipper springs with the 48 and a half inch axle spacing. Now, this leaf spring mounting kit will include the equalizers, the front hangers, center hangars, rear hangers, and all the hardware you need for installation. The equalizers on this kit are 23 and a half inches long and that allows for a 48 and a half inch between the two axles. These are designed for use with 9,000 pound Dexter axles. Now these parts will let you attach four two-inch wide slipper springs to your trailer frame.

Now, the slipper springs are sold separately. Also, I do wanna recommend on the product page of this part number, there is a table at the bottom of the page that'll show you the dimensions that are needed to determine the hanger locations on your trailer. Now, this kit here will include two of these 23 and a half inch long straight equalizers. I did wanna put a tape measure on it. There's your 23 and a half inch length and as I mentioned, these will allow for 48 and a half inch axle spacing between the axles.

They do have a one inch diameter center hole for mounting to the hangar. And then over here they got a 5/8 inch diameter side hole for attaching to the spring. Now, it comes with the two five-inch tall front hangers. Now, I just sort of laid these out in the way they go on your trailer. The front hangers, the center, the rear, but it comes with these two five-inch tall front hangers that have the 5/8 inch diameter bolt holes.

And I did wanna measure 'em for you, 'cause when you measure 'em, they don't measure from the bottom to the top on the hanger. You'll measure from the center of the bolt hole to the top. So if we put our ruler from the center to the very top is right at five inches tall. The center hangers, the same way, they're gonna be four and a half inches tall and they have one inch diameter bolt holes on 'em. So again, if we go from the center of the bolt hole to the top, four and a half inches.

And then on these tall rear hangers, they do have a 5/16 diameter bolt hole at the bottom. And if we go from the center of that to the top, six and 3/8 inches on the height of the rear hangers. I mentioned it does come with all the hardware. It'll come with four, two here and two here, of these three and a quarter inch long by 5/16 diameter spring keeper bolts with the lock nuts. Comes with four, two here and two here. These are the four and a half inch long, 5/8 inch diameter spring eye bolts with the lock nuts. And it'll come with these two five-inch-long, one inch diameter equalizer bolts with the lock nuts. Now, this kit does not include any components for mounting your axle to your springs.
