When you need dependable lighting inside an enclosed trailer or workspace, this Peterson dome light puts out a bright white glow that cuts through the dark. It uses a 28-watt 1141 incandescent bulb powered by a standard 12V DC system, giving you strong, even light right where you need it. Measuring 4-9/16" long by 2-1/2" tall, it’s compact enough to fit tight spots but still delivers plenty of coverage for interior use.
No need to wire in an extra toggle switch. This light includes a built-in nylon push-button that controls the on/off function directly on the housing. It’s easy to reach and works reliably every time—just press it, and your trailer interior is lit up instantly.
Built for utility environments, the durable steel base and screw-on clear lens make this light sturdy and long-lasting. The clear lens protects the bulb from dust and bumps while letting out clean, bright light. When it’s time to replace the bulb, just unscrew the lens and drop in a new standard 1141 bulb—no special parts needed.
Installation is straightforward thanks to its surface-mount design. The light secures flat against the wall or ceiling using the included hardware, with only a small hole needed for wiring. A simple 2-wire connection—one power lead and one ground—gets it running fast. The 3-1/2" center-to-center mounting hole spacing matches common setups for easy replacement or new installs.
If you’re swapping out older units, this model directly replaces Truck Lite # 549SWD and Optronics # IL21CB lights. That means you get a clean fit without extra drilling or adjustments, plus all the reliability of Peterson’s solid construction.

Today we're going to take a look at the Peterson Trailer interior dome light with the switch and the clear lens. Now this is an incandescent dome light that'll provide bright white light to illuminate your trailer's interior. Has this push button nylon switch at the top here that'll control the on and off function. Does use incandescent bulbs that can be easily replaced. Does use a bulb type 1141. It's a durable steel base with the screw on lens and it has a clear lens over an incandescent bulb.
Now it is compatible with 12 volt DC systems to surface mount design to the trailer with the included hardware all shown here. It includes four small screws for installing the steel base of the light to the trailer and then two long screws, which will apply the . Or install the clear lens to the base and a foam gasket to help seal it.When you go to install this, you'll just put your wires through your foam gasket just like that. Put it to the base and then attach it down. That'll help seal it.
It is a two wire design as you can see. It includes a black wire for the power and the white ground wire. Few specs on this, dimensions on this. The overall length of it, one end to the other is going to be right at four and 9/16s inches long. The height on it is right at two and a half inches tall and the depth on it, the widest point, is about one and 3/4 inches deep.
Distance between the mounting holes, center to center is going to be right at three and a half inches. Wattage on the slide is 28 watts and now what I'm going to do is we're going to go ahead and hook this up to some 12 volt power just to show you how bright it is and how the switch operates.We'll go ahead and take our power wire and your white wire will be your ground wire. With those all connected we'll go ahead and turn on the light and you can see how bright the light is, and there's the switch to turn it off, turn it on. Go ahead and turn off the overhead lights, and you can see how bright of an interior light it is. Again, it's a clear Lens, so it gives you light on all sides.
Again, if you push it to turn it off, push it to turn it on. Go ahead and turn back on overhead lights, disconnect it. But that should do it for the review on the Peterson Trailer interior dome light with the switch and the clear lens.

perfectly These replaced the old light in the horse compartment of our trailer . WE have ordered additional parts from Etrailer , and everything has been a great experience . Our LQ Horse trailer remodle would have been a nightmare without Etrailer
We've used these lamps for years for utility lighting in our technical rescue trailers. Rough service. Lots of dust. They have been very reliable. On rare occasions we've had to blow dust out of a switch, but these switches actually give us less trouble than those that come in higher priced units. We will continue to use Peterson lamps.
