Video Transcript for Diamond 1141/1003/1156 LED Bulb Review
Adam: What's going on, everybody Adam here with etrailer. Today, we're going to be taking a look at a replacement LED bulb. This is going to be compatible with your bulb types, 1141, 1003, and also your 1156s as well. This is going to be a cool white, giving us a nice color here, but we also have a warm white as well available. This thing is going to put out 320 lumens and we have eight little diodes on the inside there. And when we plug it in, we're going to have 360 degrees of lighting.
All in all, LED is definitely the way to go, so we're going to go ahead and get into the specs.As you can see here, we do have two different bulbs in here. We're going to have the warm white on one side, we're going to have the cool white on the other side. I would definitely say the cool white is going to be more for your interior colors that are more black, gray, maybe whites. But for this specific RV, I would definitely recommend the warm white, just because we have a big tan color scheme going on in here, a lot of browns, a lot of maroons and reds, and our cabinets are brown as well. I definitely think that the warm white is going to accent that a little bit better, but it all just depends on what kind of theme you all are going with inside your RV.The cool white is going to be more kind of like an office setting type, a little bit more bright.
As you can see here, we have white ceilings, it looks a little bit more white with the cool white. But then over here with the warm white, we have a little bit off-white look. So just take that into consideration whenever you're buying these bulbs.Both the cool white and the warm white are going to have the same exact dimensions. They're going to have an overall length of about two inches. And we are going to have a diameter up here on our bulb of about three-quarters of an inch.
And the diameter of our BA15-S fitting down here, is going to be about 9/16ths.So let's go ahead and compare the normal incandescent bulb with this LED bulb. The LED bulb is going to have a draw of about 0.25 amps when it hooked up to 12-volt power, which is not a lot compared to the massive 1.44 amps that the standard incandescent bulb is going to draw. That is quite a big difference. And as we start replacing all these bulbs, we're going to be saving a significant amount of energy if we can replace everything with LED. The LED bulb is only going to be drawing about three watts, which is great.
And it's going to be putting out honestly, more lumens than the standard incandescent bulb. So in my opinion, it's a no=brainer to go with the LED.When it comes to light bulbs, LED is something I always go with. It's just a no-brainer to me. I have them at my home, at home, but also I have it in my RV and camper, just because a lot of times when we go to those random RV parks, we don't know what kind of hookups we're going to have, we don't know if they're going to be in use or not, and we don't really know if they're going to work if they are there. So there's a lot of things that kind of play into powering up your RV. So every little tiny component that draws any sort of power, being able to make that more efficient is definitely something that we want. I have an AC unit running right now, and yes, it's just a little tiny bulb, but it will add up over time, especially if we replace every single incandescent bulb with LEDs. I just think all in all, it's going to be the best bet.And this one does have a built in surge protector in it, which is nice, just because if this thing gets surged with some sort of power, sometimes it's inconsistent whenever we're hooked up to different types of hookups, this is going to pop. When this pops, it's going to get glass everywhere. We don't want to have a trip to the ER, when we're a couple of states away from home. It's going to ruin the trip. When this one goes out, one, the search protector is going to help it from going out. And if one does go out, we have plenty of diodes on the inside of here, so there's multiple different pieces in here that are going to illuminate. With this, we have one little component in the middle that is going to light up. So once it goes out, it goes out, we're going to have to replace the bulb. Also, I mean, the LED is going to be rated for 50 times longer than the standard incandescent bulb. So all in all, I definitely think it's probably the best bet whenever you're wanting to light up your RV.So whether you go with the cool white or the warm white, we are going to be able to use these with dimmable fixtures too. There's a couple of LEDs that don't necessarily want to dim that well. This one is rated to dim. So if you have a couple of different lights that dim and you want to just kind of lower the light a little bit, set the mood for the night, these are going to be able to do that as well. Both the cool and the warm white are going to do it, so regardless of what color you go with, you're going to get those same exact features between the two.They do come in a pack of two, so for this fixture here, I have three different bulb outlets, so I'm going to need more than just one two-pack. So be sure to kind of count which ones you plan on replacing, and buy accordingly. That's pretty much it for a look at the cool white led bulb, and I'm Adam with etrailer.

We have tried multiple different style of LED bulbs and these are by far the best! The less expensive bulbs with exposed LEDs have shorted out due to water intrusion or electrical short circuit. One even burst and sent debris everywhere. Luckily the mechanic was wearing protective gear. We are now stocking this bulb on our shelf for future replacements as this is a superior product.
