If you’re upgrading from old bulbs, this Optronics HyperX LED trailer light makes the switch easy. It uses 12 diodes for a strong, even glow that’s both brighter and more efficient than traditional incandescent lights. At 12.8V it only draws 0.174 amps for stop/turn and 0.007 amps for tail function, so your system runs cooler and your vehicle’s electrical load stays low. The LEDs are solid-state, so you won’t have to worry about fragile filaments or constant bulb changes.
This light is built to handle wet conditions without a problem. The lens and housing are a sealed polycarbonate unit that keeps out water and dirt completely, making it perfect for boat trailers or anywhere corrosion could sneak in. Once installed, it stays sealed tight through repeated submersion or rainy drives—no fogging or shorting issues to deal with later.
Mounting is straightforward whether you’re replacing an existing light or adding a new one. The 6-7/16" wide x 2-5/16" tall x 1-3/4" thick oval light installs in a grommet such as A70GB (sold separately) for a clean recessed fit. Don’t want to cut into your trailer? Use the optional BK70BB bracket (sold separately) with the same grommet for an external mount that still looks tidy and secure.
Wiring is quick thanks to the PL-3 connector built into the back of the light. It works with common 3-prong pigtails like the straight A45PB or right-angle A47PB (sold separately), so you can plug it directly into your trailer harness without splicing wires. The setup is DOT compliant and ready to deliver steady brake, tail, and turn signals once connected.

These were purchased to replace OEM lights on our boat trailer, one of which had cracked, flooded, and stopped working. New lights were a direct replacement and took less than 5 minutes to install. These lights are far brighter than the OEM lights, and are still working great after almost a year of being repeatedly dunked in the water.
The backing plates and drums came quickly and all items necessary for installation were there except for the nuts that hold the backing plates to the axle flange. I guess they assume this is a replacement part rather than a new installation. The nuts were purchased at my local hardware store for a couple dollars, some grease for the bearings and the parts were on in a couple hours. The price was reasonable here too and free shipping. I will order from etrailer next time.
