When you are setting up this device, what is the ideal spacing between feet to get the best results? Should it be as wide as possible?

With the MORryde Hitch Mounted Stabilizer for 2" Trailer Hitches # MR22AR want to look at the angle you are creating on the arms. You want each arm to form a 45 degree angle to the ground to give you the strongest base. As no two vehicles will have the same height you want each foot to stick out the same height of your hitch. So if the hitch is 16" from the ground and you are on flat ground each leg will be 16" from center or 32" apart.
