Hi everyone. Steven here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at a trailer hub and drum assembly. This is gonna be for a 3,500 pound axle. It measures 10 inches in diameter and it's a five on five inch pre-greased hub. So folks, when we say five on five inch, I wanna start out with that information.
Make sure that you're measuring correctly. Anytime it's an odd number of lugs you wanna measure from the center of a stud to the outside edge of a stud diagonally from itself. So you can see in an image on the screen, the most common configuration out there is five on four and a half inches. But again, today we have a five on five inch. There's also a five on four and a 4.75, and there's also a five on five and a half inch.
So again, make sure you're measuring very carefully before you make your purchase and be sure you're getting the right one the first time. Now this particular assembly works with a number 84 spindle. It's gonna use inner bearing number L68149, and its outer bearings gonna be L44649. And what's nice about this is this does work for both electric and hydraulic tenants drum brake assemblies. And as you can see it comes pre grease front and back.
So it's ready to install. You can take it right out the box, put on the new bearings, race the seals, grease cap lug nuts, and you're ready to go. Now I always tell people whenever you replace these, make sure you wipe off the spindle of any kind of old grease and everything you have on there. Keep in mind grease to grease sometimes they're not the same and you don't wanna mix greases because they could potentially break down faster depending on what the makeup is of one grease to another brand's grease. So make sure you're wiping on that spindle before you install this.
Now something like this would fit on basically somewhere between a 13 to 15 inch wheel size. So that should kinda help narrow it down as well. But always use your bearing numbers to match up and always double check that lug pattern as well. Now obviously as you can see, this has a very nice corrosion resistant finish and everything. It is a heavy duty installation and again, that grease cap, it does have the rubber plug inside so it's ready to go. If you do have an easy loop spindle, you could take that rubber plug out of there and easily reach that greaser whenever the time comes to do some maintenance and stuff. As always, if you have any questions about this or any of the products, reach out to us here at etrailer. We're more than happy to assist you. I'm Steven, thanks for watching and as always, stay safe while you're towing.

Great
One of the studs had a pink mark on the end and that stud had damaged threads. I was able to get a die on it to fix the threads. The help to identify the right part, order and ship was excellent.

Fantastic comunucationand service. Gabby L REALY DOES GO OUT OF HER WAY TO HELP CUSTOMERS. tHANK YOU!!
The magnet surface is only about the wheel studs .026 thousands of an inch, this will not last the life of the brake shoes. Dexter or lippert are better thickness.
Ordered two to go on my new replacement axle. They were greased up and fit perfectly.
Thank you!! It was shipped the same day I ordered it . Great service and thank you
