Question:
Hey. I have an off-road trailer with Timbren 3500lbs axleless suspension. I want to add trailer brakes to this setup. The axles do have the flange for a brake setup. I’m looking for a 5x5 drum if possible. Do you guys offer a setup for these?

Hey, Curt!
I’d be happy to help you get set up with brakes for your Timbren suspension.
Since you mentioned this is an off-road trailer, those typically use Timbren’s HD spindles. If that’s what you have, you’ll need hub-and-drum assembly # AKHD-655-6-EZ-K, which has a 6 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern, not the 5 on 5 bolt pattern you're after.
However, if your trailer doesn't have the HD spindles then you can get part # TRU86AV. This hub/drum does have the 5 on 5 bolt pattern that you're after.
The compatible brake assemblies for that would work for either of the hubs is part # TRU96FR (sold as a pair).
Also, what kind of trailer connector do you currently have? If it already has a 7-way, the wiring for brakes may already be in place. If not, I can outline exactly what you’d need to complete the setup.
If you can confirm whether you have the HD spindles, or send the bearing numbers off your existing hubs, I’ll make sure we nail down the exact parts you need and get you rolling with the right setup.

Hey Curt, how did things go adding the electric brakes to your off-road trailer with the Timbren axleless suspension? Were the hub and brake assemblies a good fit for your setup? Your update could make it easier for the next person working on a similar trailer.
