Note: Do not use the backing plate to mount the fender to your trailer.

Tips for Replacing and Installing Trailer Fenders

Do your best to match the dimensions of the new fender to your old one.
- If a fender was damaged during a blowout, use the opposite fender to get the dimensions.
As with all trailer maintenance, don't forget to chock your wheels before getting started.
For a bolt-on fender, use your existing mounting hardware, if possible.
- The old mounting bolts or screws might be stripped or rusted, in which case you'll need to tap them out and buy new hardware.
If removing an old, welded-on fender, either carefully chisel it off yourself or take your trailer to a weld shop to have the fender professionally removed.
Don't forget to prime and paint the new fender to keep it from rusting (and to match your trailer's finish).
Before you start drilling, position the fender where you need it and center it over your wheel well.
- Mark where you need to drill (measure twice, drill once).
Don't tighten down the mounting hardware completely until you're sure the fender is mounted correctly.

Solid quality, well built, and sturdy. Comes as bare steel so ready to mount as soon as you get it. I welded mine in-place on my trailer and once the final coat of paint went on you’d think they were made for my trailer.

*My trailer has a 16’ x 6’ bed and 16” tires.

@GwendolynY I don’t remember the brand. I had it built to haul a race car. It is about 32 years old. The fenders had a couple of rusted out holes in it so I had these new fenders put on, sandblasted, painted and put new lights on it. Looks new again.

Arrived with decent sized rust spots on the fenders. I know that some of it cannont be avoided with heat/humidity and bare steel. Other than that its a very good replacement set for me 22' car hauler. 4 out 5 would buy again from here.

Well-made, thick, bare metal, with very few spots needing filing.
The inside skirt was spot-welded nicely, and the bends were clean.
Customer service has been awesome and they arrived via UPS in short order.

Heavy steel. I was surprised the UPS guy carried them in from the street. Wrapping wasn't the greatest but, there doesn't seem to be any serious dings so I guess it was enough. Cool tracking. Better than most!

How Do Trailer Fender Clearance Lights Get Mounted To The Trailer Fenders
Hey Ben, Trailer fender clearance lights are typically mounted to the fender # HP92VR using self-tapping screws and then the wiring is also typically ran through a hole in the fender down to the bottom of the trailer to connect to the tail light wiring. If your don't already have your clearance lights picked out then you can use ones like the Optronics # OPT49FR. When you say dual tires do you mean two tires on each side per axle, tandem axle where the axles are close to one another, or two axles spread spart? Parts Needed to Add Tandem Timbren 7k Axle Less System to Trailer
Hey Tyson, yeah I'd say you got everything right! Using the Timbren Axle Less kit part # TASR7KS02 will work great in a tandem setup. The hubs part # AKHD-865-7-1-K are correct for the spindles of that kit, the brake assemblies part # 23-464-465 match these hub/drums, and the wheels part # AM20761B fit the hubs as well. Hi Shelby; the Tandem Axle Teardrop Fenders w/ Backing Plates # HP92VR are typically welded on for installation. We do not have any brackets available to mount these on a trailer. If you take a look at the attached picture you can see the welds along the top of the fender.
