The eZ-Latch coupler makes connecting to your hitch ball quick and simple. You can drop the 2-5/16" coupler directly over the ball while the latch is closed, and it automatically locks into place without needing to pull a lever. It’s a clean, one-step hookup that stays secure until you’re ready to disconnect.
This actuator holds up in tough environments thanks to its heavy-duty steel body coated with durable zinc plating. The finish has a 200-hour salt spray rating that helps fight rust and corrosion over time. Whether you’re using it around water or on salted winter roads, the actuator keeps its strength and finish longer.
The master cylinder is made of glass-reinforced nylon that won’t rust or corrode like metal. Inside, an acetyl copolymer lining keeps the movement smooth as the actuator telescopes in and out. The large reservoir holds more brake fluid, and the automotive-style diaphragm cap seals out contamination so you get consistent braking over time.
With its built-in 4" drop, this actuator lines up easily with your trailer’s height for a level towing setup. It mounts to a straight 3" wide trailer tongue using 1/2" x 4-1/2" Grade-5 bolts (not included), making installation straightforward for bolt-on applications rated up to 12,500 lbs gross towing weight and 1,250 lbs tongue weight.
A safety cable with a snap hook connects directly to the breakaway lever. If the trailer ever separates from the tow vehicle, the system automatically applies the brakes to bring it to a stop. It’s built right into the actuator so you don’t need extra mounting hardware for fail-safe protection on every trip.

Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Demco hydraulic brake actuator. This is a DA10 hydraulic actuator that's going to activate your trailers hydraulic drum brakes when your tow vehicle slows or stops. So if you're not familiar with the way an actuator like this works, you will be hooked up to the hitch ball on your vehicle. And then as you're pulling your trailer along, if you slow down or stop, your trailers momentum is going to continue forward, it's going to compress this which has been going to pump the hydraulic fluid to your brakes and cause them to apply, so that your trailers rights will apply for you. This will bolt right on to your straight three-inch wide trailer tongue that will require half inch by four and a half inch grade five bolts for mounting this in place.
Those are not included. You'll have to provide those yourself. But up here at the front, is our easy latch coupler mechanism. That's going to allow for a simple secure hook up to a 2 5/16-inch hitch ball. So very easy to get hooked up.
You can leave the latch close to just drop it down onto your hitch bar. It's going to automatically wrap around and give you a nice secure connection. And then to disconnect, simply raise the lever to open it up and then raise your hitch up off of your ball. This does have a built in four-inch drop to help you match your towed vehicles height. It is constructed of a steel construction, nice heavy duty steel construction.
So it is going to give us a gross towing weight capacity of 12,500 pounds. That is of course the weight of your trailer plus the load included. And a maximum tongue weight of 1,250 pounds, that's the weight pushing down on your hitch ball. That steel construction does have zinc plating. That's gonna offer corrosion resistance.
It's tested to 200 hour salt spray rating. So it is going to hold up really well for you, especially if you're gonna be out in the winter and dealing with salt, and just your typical conditions. Being out in the open, it's gonna hold up well. Our composite master cylinder is going to be durable and efficient. It is going to have a glass reinforced nylon construction, so it will resist rust and corrosion. It has a large reservoir that's gonna provide increased capacity for your brake fluid. The automotive style diaphragm cap is going to create a completely enclosed system to help prevent any contamination of your fluid. This is going to also include this breakaway with the snap here. So you'll snap that on to your tow vehicle, typically on to the same areas. Your safety chains, just get that and put in place. And then if for whatever reason, your trailer would become disconnected from your tow vehicle, this is going to stay connected and it's going to pull forward to activate your brakes so that your trailer is not bouncing down the road on its own after becoming disconnected. So a very important matter that is going to be required by law in most states. So having that included is going to be one less thing that you have to worry about. This is going to have a nice smooth actuation telescopes in and out. So we'll do a good job for you there. There's made here in the USA, so you can trust it's made to the high quality standards. We've come to know and trust for products that are made here in the US. One thing to note. Because this actuator does not include a reverse lockout, it is recommended that you clip your trailer with free backing brakes so that you can drive in reverse without the actuator triggering your trailer brakes. Because as your trailer or your tow vehicle pushes into your trailer, that would cause it to compress as if you're stopping. So you wanna make sure that your trailer is equipped with those free backing brakes so that you can still move backwards when needed. So that completes our look for today. Nice coupler, however packaging is very insufficient and has been dropped where brake line threads, threads were damaged in the master cylinder and the brass adapter to the hose is bent. The packaging only has a couple pieces of shipping paper in it, not near enough to prevent shipping damage

I live on a farm where it seems we're always fixing trailers or building trailers for use. I have bought several hitches from etrailer and they have ALWAYS been helpful. Great selection to choose from also. Recommend them highly.
Hitch arrived early and looks just like the picture and description. It is an exact replacement for the original. All the parts are available to rebuild the unit as well but mine was rusted pretty badly so I would have had a lot of time refinishing everything I didn't replace. In my situation there was about a $50 difference between rebuilding old or complete new unit. If your hitch is in better shape than mine, they have an excellent selection of repair parts. I would suggest taking yours apart and as long as it's not rusted solid, they can probably supply you with parts for less than $70.
Had a hard time trying to find this product, but E trailer was able to provide me with great service and found the trailer hitch I needed for my trailer.

This was an exact replacement for my 25 year old hitch! So glad they have so many choices, very helpful and a perfect fit
Used this for a homemade dump trailer.
Found it was best to use a skid steer to bleed the system, move the tongue in. Then have a chain to back out. 2 person job.
Overall good product. Brakes work great! Plan on making a cover for the reservoir tank.

Very happy with the product however shipping care could be improved. Although packing paper was placed in shipping box, it was not wrapped around item thus leading to a slightly damaged emergency brake cable. A lot of weight bouncing around unprotected.

Quality of the parts is good. Fit was good. Assembly quality was poor. Missing the cotter pin for the damper end pin . Brake fluid outlet fitting was loose.
