Question:

I have purchased two Demco couplers from you with the zinc finish. Can they be painted? If so, what paint/process is recommended? Thanks Mark

Hello Mark, thanks for reaching out. The Demco Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler # DM13203-95 can absolutely be painted. People do this all the time to match the rest of the trailer. There is really no "by the book" process for painting them, just do a layer of primer and use a good rust-resistant paint. Black Rust-oleum is what I would use. Then you can easily spray to touch up down the line.

Hey Mark, how did the paint job on your Demco couplers turn out with the primer and rust-resistant paint? Your results could really help others wanting to match their couplers to their trailers.

@JesseM The paint on the coupler has held up well in Gulf coast heat, humidity and salt. Thanks

@MarkB Nice! I know how brutal that Florida heat can be, so its good to hear the paint is holding up! Thanks for taking the time to share!
