Carpet Diagram

Note: This 18" wide carpeting is designed for use on 4x8, 3x8, and 2x6 boards. If you use this on your 4x8 bunk boards, a small section of the board will be exposed on the underside.

Protect Your Boat's Hull

Over time, the carpeting that covers your bunk boards can wear down or even tear apart. This can lead to scratches on your boat's hull. Replacing the carpeting periodically ensures protection for your boat, and it will also prevent your wooden bunk boards from rotting.

Replacing Bunk Board Carpeting

To get started, remove the old carpet from your bunk boards, doing your best to remove any old staples and bolts from the boards as well.

Cut the carpet to the appropriate length and lay it down so that the backing is facing up, then place your bunk board on top. Make sure that there's enough extra carpet to wrap around the sides and ends of the board. Then wrap the carpet around one side and staple it in place.

Once you're done with the first side, tightly pull the carpet around the opposite edge of the board and secure it with staples. Loose carpet can easily snag or tear, leaving the wooden board vulnerable to moisture or damage.

Once both sides are securely attached, tuck any extra carpet at the ends in tightly, like you're wrapping a package, and secure the ends to the board with staples.

Product was as described. Easy to install and looks great on trailer bunks. Thanks E-Trailer for the videos to help us install the carpet successfully. Great resource!

by:

Did fender boards and first time I bumped one, the boat cut thru the carpet
Not near as tough as original. Have not done the bunks yet. Pretty disappointed so far.

ok, but 16 wt. for carpet bunks was not as heavy and durable as I had hoped. Definitely not as good as the original. Wish I would have got the 20 wt.

by:

Installed without problems on new boards. After only 1 year, bunk carpet already showing some wear at edge locations where boat sits on carpet. Other portions of carpet remain in good shape. For the cost, I would have expected a little more durability. 18 foot bass boat weight is only about 1800 lbs so this should not be a showing any wear at this point.

Everything showed up looking exactly like what it looked like online. Easy and simple installation on my trailer. Saved me a lot of time .

Still looks good. Even after sitting out in the sun of summer.

by:

Very satisfied with this carpeting. I had to build new trailer bunks since the originals rotted. This carpeting worked out perfectly. It's easy to work with, cuts easily with scissors, and looks great. I installed the carpeting on the new bunk boards (pressure treated) using a pneumatic staple gun with 1/2" T50 stainless steel staples.

by:

Our boat trailer originally had rollers and we rebuilt the trailer to accommodate bunks. We used this material for the new bunks and the product was great. Thank you for everything!

by:

The carpeting I purchased for the bunk boards on my trailer from your company was
exactly what I needed. The carpet was of very high quality, easy to install, and was exactly the length I needed to replace old, rotted carpeting. I will continue to order from your company for future marine carpeting needs.

by:

I replaced all my bunk boards and added new bunk CE brand carpet, this bunk carpet was easy to to install and fold over the new boards and staple in place. I did this early spring of 2020 and had no issues with the material, the boat loaded much better than before. And it added that extra protection from scratches on the hull. I bought more material for my Jon boat bunks and it’s working great. Very happy with this product.

by:

Very good product. Subject to some staining even with very limited time submerged. Product was well packaged and was easy to apply to the wooden bunks. Would definitely recommend purchase this product from eTrailer.com.

Still very pleased with the carpet used on our lift bunks. Have recommended this product to a couple friends who have been equally pleased with the product. Im about to buy another set to replace our friends bunks.

by:

Nice product, delivered promptly (as always). Not having to chase materials locally, having UPS drop it at the gate is one way I buy time - worth every penny. Nice to have pre-cut material vs having to slit down to size from a large piece off the roll at the local big box store. I wanted more support than the standard 2x4 (finished dimension of course is only 1 1/2 thick) provides, so I ripped an 8' pressure treated 4x4 down to 2 1/4 thick. The comfort of knowing it will last longer than me was worth the extra effort. This material perfectly wrapped 2 each 8 foot bunks, with two layers on one side. I highly recommend using a slap stapler. Mine came from a pawn shop. 1/2" stainless staples from local box store. The slap stapler allows using lots of staples for secure attachment without carpal tunnel from squeezing the Arrow T50 hundreds of times. The 8 hours of spinning bolts / jacking to even load on 5 keel rollers, two bunks, winch column / jack.....that's another story.

Excellent quality bunk carpet. Arrived in great condition.
Product arrived promptly.
CE Smith Marine carpet is thick and durable. Cuts cleanly and when applied to the bunks it looks great. Used 1/2" stainless staples to secure carpet along length and stainless screws with washers to secure end wraps.
etrailer.com and CE Smith Bunk Carpet both deserve 5 stars.

I have not installed yet but will this weekend.

by:

Great product, have replaced two bunks and will shortly replace 2 additional bunks on pontoon trailer. In the picture, the bunk on the right has the new bunk covering. The left bunk is my next to replace.

by:

Extremely fast delivery, great customer service, carpet seems superior quality and wrapped around new boards for our older Cobalt 206 trailer nicely. Would easily recommend not only etrailer ( we have done lots of business with previously), but this CE Smith carpet as well. Thanks!!

by:

My trailer had been stored outside for several years. The metal, wood and carpet had deteriorated to a point the trailer could no longer be used safely. I searched for parts at all local suppliers but no one had all the parts I needed in one place. I searched the net and discovered etrailer.com. I ordered everything I needed and the parts were delivered 4 days earlier than the promise date. I recommend etrailer.com without hesitation.

by:

I want to thank you for all your help with my trailer you were more helpful than you realize. So this is my trailer for a 22' Flats Cat shallow draft Catamaran. I totally dismantled my trailer and buffed by hand with a wire buffer and sand blasted in some spots and applied multiple coats of some very expensive galvanize paint (Z.R.C.). I installed all new C. E. Smith Carpet (about 80'), seven new LED waterproof lights, new springs, new equalizers, new tongue jack, new wench, new safety chain, new chain brackets, all new SS hardware and a 35' long wiring harness.
I was able to send only one review with a picture of the safety chain and brackets. I'm having a little trouble with the rest..oh some of these items were bought locally or from your competitors, until I found etrailer. Your prices were cheaper for the exact same things. Your helpful how to videos were helpful. And Rose, your personal helpful knowledge made my buying experience very pleasant, I actually enjoyed talking to you! Thanks to etrailer and specifically to Rose G.

by:

Great product, exactly what was described and super fast shipping. This fit my bunk boards perfectly and made for a very easy install.
