Note: To determine whether you can use snow chains on your vehicle, or if they might affect your ABS/EPS functionality, consult your owner's manual.

Konig's Easy Fit snow chains are are just that - an easy fit. Just slide them over the tire and step on a pedal to tension them. The chains finish self-tensioning after a full tire rotation. These are excellent if you're looking for chains that are completely effortless because there's no reaching around the tire to make connections, driving forward and rechecking the tension, or crawling around on the cold, wet ground to install them. Removing the Easy Fit is just as simple - pull the red pin in the middle and push the red buttons at the bottom of the center element to release tension, then unwrap the chain from around the tire.

They're also great all-purpose winter weather chains. so if you live in an area where you're likely to get periodic snow and ice, these Konig chains are perfect because they're durable and incredibly easy to mount. If you're more likely to see seriously icy conditions, you may want a chain with square or V-bar links that can really bite into the ice to give you maximum traction.

Konig snow chains are handmade in Italy of hardened manganese nickel alloy steel for ultimate durability. The center tensioning element on each Easy Fit chain is made of rustproof aluminum for lasting effectiveness.

Class S Designation

SAE Class S tire chains are designed for use on passenger vehicles with restricted wheel-well clearance. Most newer cars, vans, and small trucks - especially those with large aftermarket tires - will require Class S chains. If you're unsure about the class of your vehicle, consult your vehicle's owner's manual.

SAE Class S Clearance Diagram

These chains will fit your tires provided there is both:

  • A - a minimum of 1.46" (37 mm) between the top of the tire tread and the wheel well
  • B - at least 0.59" (15 mm) between the tire's sidewall and the vehicle

Confirming Your Fit

If you know your tire size, you may think you wont need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer. You'll also need to know how much clearance is in your wheel well, which you can determine by measuring from your tire tread to the sidewall of the wheel well.

We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you wont be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.

You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. Even these low-profile chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.

Installing Chains

Installing these chains is incredibly easy and it doesn't require crawling around on the cold, wet ground to make connections, or getting out to readjust them after driving a short distance.

Pull sides of the rigid arch apart to extend wire

1. Open the rigid arch section of the chain and pull the sides apart.

Tuck the rigid arch behind the tire, starting at the top, and tug chains down

2. Drape the chain over the top of the tire and tug down to fit it all the way around the bottom. (If you're testing these on bare pavement, the red cable may not fit under your tire like it would in snow.)

Flip pedal out, step on it until it clicks

3. Flip the pedal out and step on it, pushing it down the track of the center bar until it clicks in place at the bottom.

Replace pedal into travel position and attach tensioners to side chains

4. Pop the pedal back into the locked position.

How to Choose Snow Chains for Your Vehicle

To choose the right snow chains, you must match your tire size. Those measurements can be found on the side of your tire, as shown below.

Tire size on sidewall

185/60-15

  1. (185) - indicates the width
  2. (60) - gives you the aspect ratio (sidewall height as percentage of width)
  3. (15) - denotes the diameter of the wheel rim in inches

  • Should Tire Chains Go On All Four Wheels of a Vehicle or Just Two
For the best traction in winter weather you'd use tire chains on all 4 wheels. But you can get by with just two chains if you put them on the main drive axle. You can also check the owners manual of the vehicle for more info on how to use tire chains. If you get me the tire size of your vehicle I can help you pick out the best option. I also attached a link to this page that has our tire chain fitguide where you can select your size as well.

  • Snow Chains Recommendation for 2020 Toyota Tacoma with Tire Size 265/70R17
Our snow chain fitguide is organized only by the tire sizes we know the vehicle came with. Since you changed your tire size you would just need to go with chains that fit that size like the Titan chains part # TC2326 for if you are looking for the best value that will give you a pretty easy install, great traction, and last a decent amount of time. But if you wanted the absolute best you'd want the Konig Easy FIt chains part # TH04115267 which install in a matter of seconds, provide the...

  • Easy to Install Tire Chains for 265/70-17 Tires on a 2020 Toyota 4Runner
The Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains # TC2326 that you were looking at are a good, solid set of tire chains for the 265/70-17 tires on your 2020 Toyota 4Runner. These have a pretty standard installation and they will get the job done when you need them. If you'd like something a little easier to install then I recommend the Konig Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains # TH01594267 which have pretty much the same installation except they use an integrated self-tensioning feature so that you...

  • Class S Tire Chains for 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland with 265/50R20 Tires
One of my bosses had a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee but it was an all-wheel drive version, not a true 4-wheel drive version, and could have used some more stout tire chains when he got stuck once upon a time. There are more substantial chains you can use that are Class S compatible. For tire size 265/50R20 Thule tire chains # TH01594267 are Class S rated. You can also use Thule Easy Fit chains # TH04115267 which are probably the easiest to install chains I have used. All of the other options...

  • Class S Rated Tire Chains for a 2014 Ram 1500 Outdoorsman with 265/70-17 Tires
For your 2014 Dodge Ram with 265/70-17 tires we have 3 options for Class S rated chains. Since you will not be going far in the chains you might want to look at cables, # PW3027C. with rubber adjusters # PW99. These will not be difficult to put on and the adjusters will keep them tight. I have linked a video showing a typical installation for you. Cables may be simple to install but they do not necessarily offer the best grip. The other options are from Thule. There are the self-tensioning...

The best option for your 2002 Toyota 4Runner's LT265/75R16 tire size with the best rim protection is the Konig Self-Tensioning, Low-Pro Snow Tire Chains # TH04115267. These chains quickly and easily fit on your tires without having to make a single manual connection. Just drape the chain over your tire and activate the center tensioning element by stepping...

  • What are the Best Tire Chains for My 265/70-17 Tires on My 2021 Ford F-150?

  • Best Tire Chains For A 2014 Ford F-150 With LT265/70R17 Tire Size
