Is There A Snow Plow Option For A 2002 Toyota 4Runner?

Updated 12/30/2025 | Published 12/04/2025

Question:

I have a 2002 Toyota 4 Runner. It says your small residential homeplow 6'8" full-powered plow will not fit my vehicle. Can I ask why? Is it the plow itself, the front hitch options, the wiring? Why does it not fit. I found a Curt Class 3, 2 inch front receiver hitch that I can install on my 02 4 Runner. If I install the Curt Class 3 receiver hitch, can I install/use your full-powered 80inch plow?

Hi Angelo!

From what I could find, the lack of snow plow options is likely due to there not currently being any front mount hitches available for a 2002 Toyota 4Runner, though I can't say that with 100% certainty. Was there a part number on the hitch you found, by chance? Wondering if it's something that was offered a while back, but isn't anymore.

That said, if you do have a front mount hitch for your 4Runner, you can technically use the Meyer HomePlow Residential Hydraulic Snowplow - For 2" Hitches - 6'8" Wide # ME53FR. Just be aware that since this is not confirmed for use on your 4Runner, it will not have a warranty.

Where are you located? We have gotten a pretty good amount of snow here in Missouri for it being this early in the season.

Hey Angelo, did you end up trying the Meyer HomePlow with that Curt front hitch on your 4Runner? It’d be great to hear if the setup worked out despite the fit not being confirmed. Your experience could help others looking at a similar combo.
