How Easy Is It To Remove The Meyer HomePlow Snow Plow From The Front Of A Vehicle?

Updated 10/22/2025 | Published 10/21/2025

Question:

What’s the turnaround time if I want to take the plow off after a storm? I don’t have a lot of space to park it.

Linda, removal’s quick on the Meyer HomePlow # ME28FR; just lower the blade, pull one pin, and the caster wheels on the HomePlow models let you roll it into a corner of the garage. Even the heavier duty # ME53FR setup disconnects in under five minutes.

If floor space’s tight, Meyer sells replacement casters separately so you can park it sideways against a wall.

Do you have a concrete pad or gravel floor for storage?

Thanks, that’s not bad at all. Can I leave it sitting on the casters all summer, or should I block it up somehow?

@Linda You can leave it on the casters, Linda. They’re designed for long-term support, and storing it that way keeps the plow easy to roll if you need to move it. Just make sure the blade is lowered fully so there’s no pressure on the lift system, and if it’s outdoors, keep the actuator and connections covered to protect from rust or UV.
