Hi, everyone. Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at our Pacbrake Alpha HD Pro Air Bag Suspension with Internal Jounce Bumpers for your rear axle, rated at 5,000 pounds. Folks, this is a custom fit application. Make sure you're checking our fit guide here at etrailer.com. Be sure you're getting in the right parts the first time.
Now folks, I just have this part here on the table today. You are gonna get a lot more stuff with this. I'll throw an image up on the screen. You're gonna get brackets, plates, hose clamps, the airline, the airline cutting tool. All the fittings, all the bolts, nuts, hardware, everything you need for this kit.
And this is a minimal drilling install. So you have not too many things to have to drill, and this will be set up in a pretty short amount of time as long as you follow the instructions and just kind of take your time. Now here's another image. On the top left, that's the cutout or cutaway view of that internal jounce. That orange looking and gizmo in the middle.
That's your balance, jounce, whatever you wanna call it. Some people call it a bounce stopper, but it's a jounce stopper with a J. And that bottom right hand picture is a mockup of what these look like whenever they're fully assembled. And obviously, they would be going around either the frame. The axle, possibly.
Again, depending on the vehicle we're looking at, it could be different. So check the instructions as far as that goes. So getting all that outta the way. Again, this is pretty much what I was able to put up on the table, just to give you a better view about how big these are in person. And of course, on top you have your push fitting here. You just push the airline right in place. The bags here, again, have that internal jounce. You can go from zero to a hundred PSI, depending on your load. Zero, you'd still have the jounce inside that would support the load. Normally it's between five to a hundred PSI when you have weight in the bed of the truck or that your tow and a trailer or something like that. Now these are gonna help reduce rear end sag, sway, and bounce, giving you a better ride quality. And that's when they're loaded and unloaded as well. So you can get this kit today, and then there's no onboard air compressor or anything. It's a manual inflation at the rear bumper. But if you so choose, you can upgrade and purchase separately the onboard air compressor and kit. That way you could adjust the air on the fly from inside the cab of the truck. All the brackets here are powder coated. Nice precision laser measured and laser cut to match the vehicle precisely. It's a nice, looks like a hammer tone finish to me. It's a gray and black. Very elegant. These springs are double convoluted air springs. So very nice design, very heavy duty. If you've ever known, heard the name Pacbrake, they've been around for ages. Most predominantly, if I remember right, in the semi-truck, tractor trailer truck side of things. So everything is high quality, heavy duty, and you can see that in their product. The brackets are not built heavy enough
good product , good strong solid metal parts and heavy bags. The instructions were not so hot but was easy to figure out and quick delivery !
Easy install. Will pull trailer 3000 miles on vacation and see how it performs to Montana on highways and Forest Service roads.
Where to start I have 1500 pounds of tools in my 150 Chevy had them installed and it totally changed the ride and handling of the truck haven’t pulled anything yet but I’m amazed on how different the truck is already I Baught the ones with the bump stops in them the HD ones

My experience with loading my truck and seeing the difference with these air bags from PacBrake, it does look way better and the truck feels a bit more stable running atspeed limit (65mph) after that it does feels jumpy if you go over potholes, but overall I'm happy with the product, thanks Etrailer,
2020 Ram 1500.
Installation is fidgety with lining everything together for the upper bracket with u-bolt(reason for 4 stars), but still preferred over cutting the bump stop mounts off. Replaced the Timbrens with this and it is night and day difference in ride quality both unloaded and towing.
Would purchase again.
Product is well constructed and installation is straightforward. But you cannot build the kit and slip it in, you have to leave the top bracket off and install it after setting the lower bracket and air bag in place. I will note, I was working off jack stands and a floor jack, not on a lift.
