When heavy gear or a trailer pushes down the rear end, handling and braking can feel off. The Air Lift 1000 Air Helper Springs add up to 1,000 lbs of load-leveling support to keep your vehicle level and balanced. They fit inside your rear coil springs and work with your existing suspension to reduce squat, improve steering response, and maintain headlight aim when the weight is on.
Not every load is the same, so your suspension shouldn’t be either. You can fine-tune the air pressure between 5 psi and 35 psi for a comfortable unloaded ride or a firm, stable setup when hauling. Inflate each spring independently with dual air lines to even out off-center loads. It’s an easy way to dial in just the right support for whatever you’re carrying.
These air springs are made from tough molded polyurethane that stands up to daily hauling and towing without cracking or leaking. They absorb road shock and reduce sway so the ride stays smooth and controlled even on uneven roads or long highway runs. Durable materials mean less stress on your OEM suspension and tires over time.
Adding air support doesn’t have to be complicated. The Air Lift 1000 kit installs right inside your rear coil springs with no frame drilling required. It includes two air springs, two heat shields, tubing, Schrader valves, and all necessary hardware. Manual inflation valves can mount on your bumper or wherever access is easiest, making adjustments quick before you tow or load up again.
Whether you’re pulling a small trailer or carrying tools and supplies in the back, these helper springs keep the rear end from bottoming out and help distribute weight evenly across all four tires. With steady support at any pressure setting, you get consistent handling and confidence every time you hit the road loaded or empty.

Getting the tubing completely over the plastic barbed tee fittings is difficult at best without damaging the fittings. The bags will not hold pressure for more than a day. The metal barded fittings are much easier to use & get the tube seated properly. Recommend NOT using the plastic tee fittings.
Getting the bags inside the springs is a test of patience, flexibility, hand & arm strength within a confined area. This is not a quick installation AND make sure you're in the shade because you'll be sweating enough without the help of the sun.
Once everything was installed & inflated, the ride without the trailer was noticeably better & with the trailer, the bag end sag was completely eliminated. FYI, the ride of the KIA without the air bags & trailer is already very nice.
Squeaks like mad. I've tried everything but there is just enough rub to make it loud. Also, it was a major pain to install, but that is more on the car than the bags. I'd like to have seen the clips for the hoses be made of a material that doesn't rust, like stainless, so I don't expect the air lines to hold up long with these thin metal clips. When the bags are firm enough to help with suspension droop, they end up having no give withing the coil spring to do much more than act as rubber stops. Overall, It's an ok product, but I'm not sure it's worth the effort. Two stars due to not using stainless or brass for something under the vehicle, otherwise three stars.
I think this is a great product and installation may be quite direct on some vehicles but very challenging on a 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe. I tried to install it myself but quickly realized that it would be extremely difficult without a lift. I took it to my mechanic who also realized that installing the easy way, by partially removing the coil spring and inserting the air bladder would not be possible, as the base coil on the spring assembly is smaller in diameter than the body of the coil. The bladder can't be pushed into the coil through the base of the disconnected coil. In some vehicles this is possible but not the Santa Fe. It can only be installed in the manner outlined in the instructions included in the kit from AirLift. The bladder needs to be rolled up as per instructions, and forced through the coils. But before that happens you need to reach into the coil with a VERY SHARP pocket knife and stab a 9/16" diameter hole through the rubber cap at the base of the coil. It sounds easy until you try it. The air line and clamp need to come up through that hole to attach to the bladder and the hole needs to be that size and in the center of the rubber cap. If the car is raised, supported on jack stands so wheels are off the ground, it's very difficult to find a body position that allows you to see into and reach into the coil and cut that hole in the center, especially on the passenger side where all the exhaust plumbing runs close to the coil. If I were younger I may have been more able to tough it out. If the unit works well and doesn't leak it will all be worth it, but I hate to think of having to take it back out and try the install again if it leaks.
Good product i loose 5psi in 1 year very happy i recommend
I have not had my boat on them yet but I put air in and it raised my vehicle
This is my third set i purchased. Good and reliable product.

Thanks for sharing the photo! So glad you have found something you like :) Do you tow or carry anything fun with the extra suspension support?
Had to get a garage to install for our 2017 Kia Sorento --- the dimensions were a lot different than the instructional video (product on video appeared narrower, allowing greater ease in shoe-horning between coils). Following first winter, line to one bag need to be respliced due to wear from improper routing. This was an installation issue, but something to be noted. Only installed in the fall, so still need to properly test with our larger/heavier RV. Holds vehicle well with our yard trailer (fully loaded with yard waste).
Super tight fit in
It took me extra muscles to fold squeeze the lifts between the springs on Kia Telluride. I’ve “aired” them, but have not put any pressure with my Cargo Trailer Conversion(CTC). Life has gotten in the way can’t predict when I will get a chance to test the Airlifts.
Thank you for touching base!
Easy install and it really firmed up the suspension on my Palisade! It only took a couple hours to install. I found it easier to leave the bag uncapped and push it through the coil spring with a twisting motion. It kinda just popped into place. If I followed the instructions and flattened the bag it became rigid and difficult to work with. Otherwise routing the tubing and connecting everything was straight forward.
Works good, installation was easy. Makes a noticable difference when towing. My only complaint is with the bags installed I occasinally get a squeak from the rear shocks going over a curb etc, especially when its been raining and they are wet.
Just received air lift kit today, will go to Hyundai dealer on Monday to see if they will install for me.
Air tubing seems a little flimsy. But air bags appear robust and good quality - hence very difficult to fold and squeeze between coils of spring. It was a real battle and took over five hours total.
Now owning for a year and use it for trailering a few times a month, I work really well to help stabilize and level our SUV (Hyundai Palisade) from towing anything from 3k-5k pounds. It seems to keep air pretty well also for the short day trips that we do.
The only draw back is when we aren't towing, the are a bit noisy - squeaky, and make a clunking sound also even when at 5 PSI.
The package arrived on time, however the box is not in great shape. Everything inside is ok but this is not a brand new box. It was re taped by someone, so it's been opened before and everything was just thrown in the box. The parts look new, but who knows. We shall see.
Reviewing the Air Lift 1000 kit 60860 for Kia/Hyundai SUV
Installed in a 2017 KIA Sorento LX. Like many other reviews claim, this was not easy to install although the factory video makes it look so, so simple. I followed the instructions for the first bag, it took me 2 and ½ hours to get it inside the spring coil. I used an exacto knife for cutting the hole, which worked very well. Not having a spoon type tire iron, I eventually settled on the handle of a large crescent wrench. After inserting the bag ½ way in, using the wrench to push on the part already in the spring brought the rest of the bag further in. Eventually I finally got the first bag inserted although it was twisted. Inflating the bag straightened it out. Starting on the second bag, I noticed it was much more pliable. It had been sitting in the Florida sun for the past 2 ½ hours. I folded it down as instructed, then folded it in ½ lengthwise and used zip ties to secure it. After sitting in the hot sun for another hour while I hydrated, it only took me 10 minutes to get the 2nd bag inserted and needed no other tools to assist. Carefully snipped the zip ties off and it popped into place. Running the air lines was simple enough. The hose clamps are very fragile, be patient, be careful or they will break.
Overall I am quite pleased with the performance of the bags. They make a big difference in how the KIA rides when towing. They hold pressure and are easy to inflate & deflate. I use a bicycle tire pump as I have no need to modify the pressure in route and didn’t see the need to spend the money on a remote control inflation system.
Still working great after a year. Installation was aggravating but it helped A LOT to take the wheel off.
Shipped quickly, the install was pretty easy except for getting the bags in the coils. Heating the bags with a hair dryer helped a bunch. Been towing our travel trailer across country this past week and the extra support is working out fabulously.
Product arrived promptly. Very simple idea, but absolutely difficult as H&¿¿to install. Trying to squeeze the folded air bag between the coil Springs was an absolute nightmare. Maybe some springs on some vehicles have a larger spacing between the coil, but a 2019 Kia Sorento does not. It took almost 6hrs to install both sides. One trick that did help was to use a little silicone spray on the air bag where it was jammed into the coil spring. This helped make the bag slippery so it passed between the coil spring. Just don't get it all over the air bag or it will be too slippery to hold onto as you push it into place. The hose clamps are really a poor design, awkward to squeeze with pliers as you position them into place. So far bags appear to be holding air pressure. Time will tell has to how durable and dependable they will be.I installed them to assist with towing my camper and help reduce the squatting when towing.

So far the air bags are still holding air . It does help with keeping the rear end of my Sorento from bouncing around when pulling my camper.

So far the air bags are still holding up well. no leaks in the air lines. The only issue was the valve stem came lose a bit and air leaked out , but a simple tightening of the valve stem with a valve stem tool and all has been good since.
Just what my 2022 Palisade needed since they are notorious for heavy weight body. Rides and handles a lot better.
Yes, plan on a good 5 hours to install. I watched several videos that made it look easy, but the smaller ones won't fold up like a hot dog. I ended up folding it at a diagonal after flattening, and it went in pretty easy. I also warmed them up in the hot sun which I think helped
NO SQUEAKING despite other reviews. I wonder if people that have squeaking issues used some kind of lubricant to get them in. I didn't use any lubricant, and have zero squeaks at any pressure.
The hardest part to the install was figuring how to route the air tubing. Instructions were very clear to follow. They do provide a diagram on were to route the air lines but couldn't figure out how to get there without coming to close to the exhaust and muffler.
Seems to work so far. I like results, but air hoses are too thin. Need protectors where hose passes thru frame of car.
Word of advice: It was WAY easier to just remove the coil springs and install the bags that way. (2016-2020 Kia Sorento)
Lift the rear end, remove wheel, disconnect the lower control arm, shock, and sway bar link. Take out the coil spring and insert the bag from the top. Reassemble in reverse order and torque bolts to spec. Much easier.
From that point it was just a matter of routing the air lines through the control arms, up through the subframe, over the spare tire, to the trailer hitch mount. Bags seem to hold air well and are holding up so far. Definitely made an improvement in handling around corners.
Note: There is a noticeable squeaking/noise from the rear end going over bumps at low speeds. Once you're on the pavement or up to speed it improves.
Loses one star for the noise and install. Otherwise not a bad product for the price, especially if you're the DIY type. I personally work on cars, so maybe it was a little easier for me.

Thanks for all of the detail here Charlie and really appreciate the photo!
I knew going into this, this was going to be a pain to install. After 5 hours, I had to call a friend who was a mechanic to come over and help get the bags into the springs. We finally read enough reviews where people said to heat up the bags a little, fold them and zip tie them. This worked! But.....Here we are, they've been installed, traveled over 2000 miles with them in and let me tell you, the noise! OMG THE NOISE! Every bump, dip, hell - I think just for the fun of it - my car squeaks like a 1970's Cadi! I've used multiple Teflon lubricants, Bearings Grease and other various lubricants. NO, I didn't use WD40. You can hear me coming down the road the noise is that loud. I called Airlift as instructed and they advised me that they're not even showing that these are a match for my car although Etrailer does. The tech that I spoke to told me that if I've driven that much, with and without loads, adjusted the PSI (which I have. I've gone from 5-35psi as instructed. No matter where I am sitting, it is loud! For someone who is tone sensitive with high PTSD and ADHD/OCD - this is not working. Airlift said that there's a 60 day ride approval. I don't approve as I've gotten to the point that I don't even want to drive my 2025 car! Instead, I've been driving a 2005 van if I need to go to the store or anything. I've truly tried to let these be the savior of my needs, but I think I'm going to just bite the bullet and get a Gladiator or Ram.

Well, after going back and forth - basically it comes down to - 60 day drive warranty doesnt compute. So after spending $300 on install, now Im expected to spend another $300-$400 to have them removed to return them, oh and pay for return. So roughly $800 to get back $130. Ill chalk this up to understanding that if a product doesnt work out in any manner. To remove these, you have to take the rearend of the car off - shocks and springs - then try to get the bags out of a much smaller ending without damaging otherwise youll not refund. Basically no support, other than a were sorry.
